This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

@ a tasting, pours an amazing amber liquid with a pinkish nice head, aroma of honey, raisins, biscuit, almond, vanilla, wood and some cherry liquor, flavors of malt, caramel, honey, toffee, butter, brandy, vanilla, dried apricot, plum and bitter pleasant finish, full-bodied, great beer for the israel cold winter. ;-)

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2015 [Bottle from the Six Bells pub] Deep, slightly hazy amber with a thin white head. Lots of raisins up front, then orange pours through. Rich, vinous and heady like a quality sherry. There’s some Christmas cake in there, and some spiciness too - pepper and nutmeg. The alcohol is evident, but is kept in check; the sweetness works well with a late, light, earthy hop bitterness. A sumptuous, beautiful beer that I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to have tried!

Bottled. Amazing aroma with fermented fruits, a bit like port wine. The taste is not the best, but still awesome. Fruit, licorice, coffee. The finish is one of the longest I’ve had. Just great.

Bottle breached on 06/21/15. Pours cloudy amber with very small white head. Nose is complex. Apricot, dates, caramel, sherry, vanilla, orange on the tongue very late. Malt sweetness is intense. Not bitter. Caramel cream mouthfeel. There are spice notes maybe nutmeg? It is BLOODY good.

Sweet malty nose with some characters of root vegetables (parsnip?) and molasses. Looks perfect - deep amber, off-white firm head of perfect consistency, persistant lacing. Again, as in prior years, the flavour doesn’t disappoint - this remains quite possibly the best English offering year upon year, with each successive bottling developing on the one before. The flavour on this one starts with the characteristic apricoty malt, which then develops into a long, rich, mulled wine finish with an underpinning bitterness that balances with a biscuity dryness perfectly. A slight interlacing vinous, resiny sharpness completes the picture for this outstanding and complex vintage.

50 cl bottle, thanks ekstedt! Bottle no. 36879.
Clear cherry wood brown color, tan head. Alcohol and fresh hoppy scent. Smoke and raissin taste, warming alcohol feeling. Alcohol aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. A bit too much alcohol precense. Most likely improves with longer storage.

great copper body with an off white lasting creamy head. caramelly earthy( i’m not sure what vinous really is, but i’d imagine this to be close, i’ll have to check with nuffield) nose, a bit of dust & honey hangs over this. taste is F’ing phenomenal. sweet crisp toffee notes caramel lingers into a sugary cotton candy like flavor. this is greatness, light bitterness level keeps an even keel. not as good as sex, but close. 5 6 9 4 18

[email protected] Aroma of malts, toffee, floral and madeira. Copper color, beige fine head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, malty, toffee, herbal and floral herbs. Alcoholic and sticky. This certainly has potential to age well.

Bottle via SS 2006 (mucho thanks!). Pours an almost clear copper with a large beige head. The nose is biscuity, grainy, toffee, peach/apricot. It tastes exactly like it smells with a crisp, clean semi-dry finish. THis is a world class beer that i was not expecting much from, but damn this is quite nice! World class Strong Ale..i wish i had another....trade anyone?!
