Reddish amber colour, not much head. Aroma is very red wineish along with some hints of vanilla, alcohol and sweet malts. Flavour is the same with yeast, some fruits and apples and raisins. Long aftertaste of wine and earth. A bit sharpedged still, so probably need some time to smoothen up. 7 4 7 4 15
Bottled (91893). Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is grass, caramel, spices, slight alcohol and vanilla. Flavour is vanilla, grass, spices, grassy hops and some mild notes of alcohol. More balanced than the cask at SBWF2007 was. 8 4 8 4 16.
Cask at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy amber. Sweet with syrupy malt. Salty and vinous with near full bodied. Thick but quite soft mouthfeel, notes of molasses and a lot of caramel. Fruity and appley with a long resiny finish. Intense and warming, yet a bit young. DocLock (11236) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 24, 2007
Bottle from Capone’s. Clear medium copper pour with 3-finger off-white head and spare lace throughout. Aroma is ESBish, with caramel malt, British hops, mild tannins, and mild brown sugar. Tastes caramel malty, but not sweet, with a dry hoppy presence, some florals, and mild spicy notes. Stays pretty dry and hoppy throughout, and I agree that this one needs time to mature. harrisoni (19753) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2007
Cask gravity at Bowl Inn, Charing. Cask had BBE 12/03/2008. Strong alcohol and a bit syrupy. Decent hop on finish but more muted than other vintages I’ve had. Good raisin fruit. Malty/raisin up front, then dry hop on finish. More earthy and less grapefruity than I expected. Still got plenty of hop though. Needs time to mature.
