A classic Vintage Ale with an aroma which incorporates spicy hop notes with rich fruit character and leads on to a very full malty, fruity, sweet palate which has a surprisingly clean finish coupled with a matching bitterness.
I have handcrafted this beer from the finest Fuggles, Target and Super Styrian hops, Maris Otter malted barley and of course, our unique yeast to create a truly extraordinary unique brew. - John Keeling, Brewmaster

Bottle - Vertical 2005 to 2008 - Raisin, toffee and biscuit on the nose but also some alcohol. Cloudy brown with a tiny head. Brown sugar, raisin and the usual port suspects and some bitterness coming from the hops. The bitterness and alcohol give this one some harsh edges which I didnít get from any others. I would let this sit another year.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Arielís place. Thanks Vladimir. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, honey, some fruitiness, some oxidation and a bit of fruits. Sweet malty flavor, honey-ish, a bit biscuity and fruity. Finishes slightly drier and alcoholic. Medium-bodied.

Bottle at Chrisoís Fullers-Gales Tasting (thanks to Chris). It pours clear amber, with a thin off-white head. The nose is sweet tinned fruit - nectarine, melon, orange and pear and some fruit cake. The taste is sweet tinned fruit, wood, leather, spice, dust and sherry, with a dry, warming finish. Some decent bitterness there too. Full body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Good balance. If you have one of these, drink it now!

Slightly hazy amber with a firm and lasting off-white head. Rich malt aroma with fruity notes, some marmalade and a touch of grassy hops. Dry malty flavour with caramel and biscuit, and just enough hop bitterness for a perfect balance.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy copper amber color with a medium creamy off white head. The aroma is a dark fruits, caramel and sweet malt. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is a bitter malt with caramel and yeast. A very good english strong ale from Fullers.

Bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a large, frothy, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, cookie, nutty), average hops (perfume, flowers), light yeast (dough) with notes of apple, pear, date, and alcohol. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

courtesy of oh6gdx, bottle #91889 - pours a clear reddish-amber colour with a slightly beige head; aroma of caramel, red fruits and malt; nice flowery hoppiness; full-bodied, slightly sticky, lively palate, robust and slightly astringent bitterness; long and very bitter finish with more red fruits and malts and a light alcohol touch - definitely needs some ageing

Bottle, thanks SÝren.
Had this after 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Pours clear amber with a nice, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma is light fruity, sweet caramel, piney hops and surprisingly flowery and fresh. This one must have been dry-hopped? Medium carbonation, lovely dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is really wonderful, lots of caramel sweetness, vinious, grassy, some fruitiness. Plant sap and a lovely bitter finish. Holy cow, this is good right now!
