A: 7 pleasant fruity cakey aroma
L: 4 Rich red, hint of haze, tight orangy-beige head.
T: 7 Some toffee and cakeiness, but I also get slightly floury aspects that I’m less keen on. Balance between the sweet cakey malts and the zesty hops is very nice. Flour subsides later, but is replaced by a bit of dustiness instead.
P: 4+ Full smooth palate, gentle carbonation. Cakey finish, some cut mixed peel with an almost orangy zesty tingle. Perfect for sipping after a meal. Hops do seem to build up sip after sip.
O: 16- Maybe it’s becuase I like the bitter hops, but for me it improves sip after sip, the cakeiness never fades, but it becomes mellower and more succulent, and the hop bite never stops building up - lovely. Look forward to tasting this again in a year or two - it has enough sweetness and strength that it should age very well. (Yes, I know, it has had 4 years already.)

Aroma really showing the ageing, super sweet fruity body. Taste super mellow and sweet, love the fruity aspects. Pleasant bitterness in the finish. Not shining, but still very delicious.

Still a little rough around the edges compared to the older ones. Still quite nice! Ferris (16296) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 22, 2013

Bottle at Chriso’s Fullers-Gales Tasting (thanks to Chris). It pours clear amber, with a thin off-white head. The nose is wood, tinned fruit (pear, melon, nectarine), brown sugar and spice. The taste is spice, fruit cake, alcohol warmth, leather, residual sweetness of tinned fruit, with a dry finish. Much dryer in the mouth and spicier than previous vintages tasted. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Good. djd07 (15342) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2015
