COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vintage Ale is a truly distinguished bottle conditioned beer. Each vintage is a blend of that year’s finest malt and hops, creating a unique limited edition brew. Being bottle conditioned, it is after bottling that the flavours truly begin to develop, and continue to do so well beyond the best before date that we are obliged to state.

The 2009 Vintage features Kent grown Golding Hops and East Anglian Tipple malted barly. It has an intial aroma of rich Muscavado sugar followed by a brandied caramelised

Best by 12/2012 for the 2009 vintage bottle #116,697 but I couldn’t wait, pours a two finger cream head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Dark fruit and light alcohol nose, flavor follows with dark fruit and alcohol. $9.99 for a 500ml bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma. And this was written Dec 2010 for the 2007 Vintage: Its time, the label says best by end of 2010 bottle #129078. Pours a off-white one finger head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Hazy amber color, with some yeast left in bottle. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light caramel nose. Flavor is some caramel, toffee, higher ABV is hidden. Very light bitter finish. $6.99 for a 500ml bottle from Capitol Convenience Concord, NH (now closed). It rates a four. Here’s what I wrote in May 2002 for a 2000 Vintage: Strong carbonation and head, malty, good after taste, smells like a triple. Too bad it is limited to 85,000 bottles but maybe it is a good idea - at $9.95 for 500ml one could go broke.

Not much thick head but something along the fine line. Heady and powerful bouquet which is not at all in your face but there’s a treasure trove of flavours in there. A light acidity followed by oak, bananas ansd vinous qualities. Full but not at all cloying.Crisp and still telatively youthful. Nice!

Bottle #122698. Pours a red/amber with a small white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. Flavor has lots of dried fruit character with nice malty goodness coming through. Slightly warming finish, this has really developed nicely over time. Perfectly balanced. Great beer.

Appearance: Pours a dark, clear amber with a decent, sudsy white head. Aroma: Pear, caramel, vanilla, herbal hops, and a slight hint of booze. Taste: Dry cocoa, milk chocolate, bitter and herbal hops, plum, apple and dark booze. Mouthfeel: Thin and fizzy. Overall: Magnificent, a true classic. It smelled so good, it took me 15 minutes before taking my first sip.

Lilja (3541) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 21, 2012
Ett elegant och välbalanserat öl av högsta kvalitet. Smakrik och komplex. Här finns plommon, röda bär, sirap, dessertvin, russin, mörk söt choklad. Till detta kommer en lång och lagom besk eftersmak.

Malty_MacHops (688) - Eastanollee, Georgia, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Notes of toffee, dark fruits, and a slightly vinous almost sherry like quality. Deep brown with almost no head. Balanced between deep malty notes and earthy complex bitterness. Medium to full bodied almost flat with a complex warming finish.

Erzengel (9760) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - OCT 6, 2013
Reife rote Kirschen, Pflaumen, Dazu herb-trocken! Der Nachgeschmack ist lang anhaltend, intensiv, vollmundig. Den Alkoholgeschmack ist nicht zu merken! --> Sehr leckeres Ale!! Toll, aromenreich, schwer! --> 13/12/13/13

Poured from bottle. Brown color, slightly hazy, minimal tan head. Aroma: malt, tofee, leather. Sweetness of caramel malts, raisins, dried fruits is well ballance with bitterness of noble hops in finish. Full body, smooth, warming, soft carbonation.

Excellent! Aroma is toffee, raisins, and caramel. Wow is this buttery like rum? Taste is tons of caramel sweetness that taste slightly toasted with some hints of raisins. The finish is so unbelievably smooth. This is an exceptional beer!
