Deep amber color, not much head. Nutty, a bit toffeish aroma. Alcoholic, butterscotch, nuts. Quite sweet and raw alcoholic so far, but someway more pleasant than some other young Fuller Vintages I’ve had on cask.
Cask @ GBBF 2009. A clear red/brown colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma of caramel with sweets. There are fruits like cherries and notes of alcohol. The taste is very fruity and sweet. A little bitter with fruits, cherries, some citrus and pear. The aftertaste is very sweet with some bitter. HogTownHarry (6925) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - DEC 4, 2009
Bottle ( 500ml ). Bottle #45009. Deep clear bright copper-amber with a huge foamy lasting light tan head. Simple aroma of cereal grain, pungent floral bitterness, moderate alcohol, a hint of green fruit - tastes the same, stronger alcohol, increased bitterness with grassiness thrown in; astringent, fairly lively, with a dry squeaky slightly boozy finish. A little lighter than past years, but tasty enough. jnelson_22 (118) - Heerlen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 25, 2009
I picked up five bottles of this: one to drink now, and four to age for varying amounts of time... Maybe in a few years I can do a vertical tasting. Pours amber/brown with an off-white head that fades quickly. Earthy hops on the nose, coupled with roasted, bicuity malt and a little deep fruit. The fruit is stronger in the mouth. There is a smooth mouthfeel leading with malt, quickly taken over by hops, balancing deep fruit, followed by warming alcohol and lingering sweet, molasses finish. As the beer nears room temperature, the deep fruit becomes more pronounced with sweet, toffee-like flavors. Tastes like it will definitely improve with age as the hops fade and the malt becomes more rounded and deeper... DougShoemaker (3147) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 4, 2010
Aroma is a rich malt, some pitfruit and caramel notes, orange, with a reddish hue, pours a tiny toffee head, some lace. Flavour is a fine malt, with fruit, alcohol is noted. Full bodied, rich texture, bitter, but at this point a bit boozy. Certainly a well made offering, which time should round off the edges.

Finished off with this after 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Pours completely clear amber with a nice, small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, malts, light biscuity and with some herbal, spicy hops. Highish carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, malty, light citric and vinious. Quite delicious but still rather young.
Bottle [500ml]. No. 036320. Pours a clear amber, quite bubbly, with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, fruit, grain, yeast, light hops and some light sugary sweetness. Flavour of sweet malt, light hops, alcohol, a bit of graininess and perhaps some spices as well. Lightly bitter, slightly alcoholic finish. I’d like it a bit more flavourful. Medium bodied. Pretty good, though not one of their best vintages it’s still a solid beer. anders37 (26657) - Malmö, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2010
Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with hints of dark fruit. Sweetish malty warming caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish warming dark fruit finish with hints of carame land alcohol in the aftertaste. Sammy (12210) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2010
The 2009 was a well done old ale. Though not complex it had mMild fruit, and noticeable carmel that gave it an above average mouthfeel. Not sweet, most drinkable.Good head. LordCorkscrew (1774) - Ronco Scrivia (GE), ITALY - AUG 5, 2010
