COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, Released August 2012.

The 2012 Vintage Ale, our 16th, is brewed with three of this year’s finest hop varieties including, Goldings, award winning Sovereign and Target hops. These combined with our unique yeast and organic barley grown by Sir James Fuller on the Neston Park Estate result in a wonderful limited edition brew that has a luxurious flavour.

Individually packed and numbered, this bottle is one of only one hundred and twenty five thousand produced

Although we are obliged to state a best before date of 2015, like a fine wine or whisky, this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many more years

Being bottle conditioned, the beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully, sit back, and enjoy this, the very finest of Fuller’s ales.

Bottle, 500ml. A mahogany beer with a big foamy white head and lots of gas. Aroma is of chestnuts, malt, wood, pine resin and alcohol. Taste is bitter, especially at the end, with some carbonation and astringency. It has a strong malt character and an alcoholic but well-balanced aftertaste. It feels really well aged, like a good whiskey. One of the finest English Ales I have ever tasted.

Shared bottle (between two of us) on 26th Oct 2014: # 59555. The body had a copper hue to is orange look, the top an off white blanket which stayed around. Fairly sweet malty molasses in the aroma. The taste followed in the same way, sweet toffee and caramel flavours, with the malts taking over completely, mild fruit hints within the maltiness. I really liked this, as I have all of their Vintage Ales. Well made, well presented and well recieved.

Lightly hazed orange pour with creamy off white head and lace. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, light dried fruit, and a touch of abv with no hops to speak of. Flavor is sweet malt start with a nice abv warmth, toffee, and brown sugar. A pleasant earthy hop bitter finish. Some estery tones as well. Medium body with good carbonation. Very ncie

5dl bottle enjoyed at home. Coppery amber with a light head. Sweet aroma of dried wine fruits. Taste of sherry, dried fruit and some malty taste. A drier aftertaste similar to that of sherry. Full bodied with a complex depth of taste from the hops and malt. Was a bit too cold when I first tasted it, but was very good as soon as it warmed up a little.

50cl Bottle via trade with Benzai, cheers René! Clear copper/amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of lots of sweet dried fruits, oranges, raisins, sherry, confit fruit, toffee, booze, some marmalade, grassy hops. Flavour is quite sweet, balanced by a firm grassy bitterness, caramel, raisins, sherry, confit fruits, orange marmalade, some oxidization, decent bitter finish with quite some alcohol. Medium to full-bodied, sticky. Nice, but 50cl was a bit too much.

Bottle. Copper amber pour with a generous beige head, good lacing. Aroma is sweet with some more wood, and fruit. Taste is toffee, orange. Liked this more than 2012, maybe because it was less boozy.

Murky bronze golden and a thick but thin ringed head. Very busy and brassy nose, cinnamon and nutmeg. No hint of booze. Creamy sweet, ground lemon and clean bastardised malt. Surprisingly spritzy carbonation. Finishes clean and coppery.
