Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, malt, hops, fruits, little licorice and has a nice warming finish.

Pours a nice dark amber color with a white head. Nice spiced aroma with a bit of a malty sweetness. Flavor matches.

Getting a little expensive to get every year, but I still usually do. This was the newest in a vertical and while I think a little time would mellow it a little, it’s good now. Rich malt and spicy hops in a pleasant combination.

500 ml. pours a copper-amber with a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Big nose of earthy-spiced toffee, a bit of dark fruit and a touch of sweet orange. Rich tastes of toffee, bread pudding with sugary icing, dates and orange zest. Long finish of pith and toasted wood dries the big malts well and brings a nice balance. Medium-heavy body is smooth with a low carbonation.

500ml bottle from LCBO. Dark copper wiith an off-tan head. Toffee, caramel malt aromas. Brown sugar, toffee notes. Alcohol on the long hoppy finish.

Fukito (1059) - Santiago, CHILE - SEP 10, 2014
Hazy orange/ light copper color with a small beige head. Strong nice aroma of orange mermelade and brandy. Flavor is fruit cake with some fruity esthers and a slight sourness, short bitter-sweet aftertaste. A little watery and one dimensional and slight alcoholic burnt. Not bad, but expected more out of it...

kdm1984 (814) - Missouri, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Mahogany appearance with small, yet well-retained, head and thin rings of lacing. Aroma: red fruit, brandy, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, Christmas, oak. Worth sniffing over and over! Flavor follows suit. A little too much carb on the palate for something this exquisite. Still, this is sooo good. And it’s supposed to taste best 3-4 years after? Wow.

3.3
McNeillR (2322) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 5, 2014
Dark coppery golden, hazy and thin bubbly track of a head. Coppery nose, cinnamon and nutmeg again. Brassy and softly bitter. Bit soapy and flatter than the previous vintage. Finishes rusty.
