DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 19, 2015
Bottle. Lovely hazy deep orange with a soft persistent golden head. Rich doughy malts, sponge toffee, orange peel, sherry high notes. Very smooth and balanced, a joy to drink. One of the best vintages in recent memory.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2015 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with foamy beige head, bit soapy. Aroma is seriously malty! Jam, sweet, dried fruits, malty caramel, honey, slight booze. Taste is sweet, malty, bread, toffee. Medium to full bit sticky body with slight toasty finish and slight bitterness. Some alcohol in finish too. Could have used a year ore two more aging. Great port aroma as it warms.

(bottle, #024405) Hazy, deep amber colour with a beige and mid-sized foamy head. Mildly biscuit cara-malty aroma with mildly fruity notes of raisins, accompanied by spicy and slightly woody hops. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Balanced biscuit and slightly nutty cara-malty taste with subtle fruity notes and spicy hops in the background; lasting and slightly juicy malty finish with balanced hoppy spice. Very pleasant. 30.XII.14

Pours a hazy orange color with a creamy white head. Aroma is fruit, molasses, sweet bread, apple, pear, caramel, yeast, funk, clove, alcohol. Taste is molasses, malt, caramel, funk, clove, booze, green apple peel, bright pleasant fruit. Great beer, aged well over 2 years, wish I had the patience to hold it longer, it has a best by date of 2023.

MrHangover (4561) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - FEB 28, 2015
Bottle @ THT February. Pours hazy reddish beer with a quickly disappearing, off white head on top. Aroma of caramel, malts, some sugary molasses. Flavor is sweet, loads of sugar and some booze and a big base of caramel. A bit unbalanced and could use more age, but still a nice beer.

Bootle, courtesy of myself, poured @ dining room table, just now.
Pours a lightly hazy rust color with a decent enough head that fades into a small head that leaves plenty of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is fruity, most specifically figs, red apples, and (more generally) cooked fruit. It’s got some toffee in there. It does for better or worse show it’s alcoholic strength on the nose.

The flavor has an almost brandy like flavor, certainly alcoholic... but also in a warming way. It’s got some cherry, some toffee, & some vanilla... which is to say that it’s on the sweet side but decidedly not cloying. The bitterness is low but lingers in the finish.

All together this is a wonderfully enjoyable beer. Not something that’s usually up my alley, but it’s still fun to have something like this every now and again.

Poured medium amber with a dense off white head. Aroma of medium sweet berries and soft malt. Medium body, flavour of sweet berries and bitter dryness. A decent vintage.
