Aroma leaves some to be desired, however the taste is quite delicious, palate pleasing, would drink again
Bomber from Samís, Durham. Nice to see this in bottles since I missed out at the brewpub, but itís a curious one to release commercially (Apollo Rye, please). Semi-cloudy gold pour, nice head but a kind of indistinct look to the beer. Nose is sharply grassy, with loads of citrus coming on but almost like cough-drop citrus to me. Not a whole bunch of depth from the sage, just tends to enhance the grassy qualities, with the verbena trying gamely to hold things together. Some spicy notes in there along with yeast, but Iím not quite sure whether this beer is trying to be Thai farmhouse or what. chandler0201 (650) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Light orange pour with big white head. Aroma is heavy on lemon balm and some spices. Flavor is more lemon with hints of other citrus, and finish is a bit watery. Balance on the beer is way too citrusy, otherwise this would be a bit better. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Bottle from Samís. pours a cloudy layered yellowish orange with a foamy lively white head. Nose is heavy lemon, sage, butterscotch, toffee, charred pineapple. As I continue to sniff I get more or and more straight limoncello or some sort of gin drink with lots of lemon or st Germaine. Also smells kinda syrupy. Flavors are a bit too potent as well, both the herbal sage flavors and the strong lemon verbena oils clash a bit, leaving a slightly vegetal and syrupy lemon lime mess. Lots of green peppers in the spicy vegetal finish. I still have that rating notebook you gave me 5 years ago, Critter! emacgee (4674) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - OCT 5, 2012
Not my thing, but still well executed. Herbal aspect was a bit too heavy for me, but it was clean. Just powerful. Super spicy/evergreen character. I get a lot of spruce tips. Pale blonde pour with two fingers of white head. Dry with some citrus zest and a ton of peppery/spicy notes. Light bodied.

Hmmm... seems like another Fullsteam beer thatís brewed first and then the style is decided upon later. Says "Belgian Ale," but this seemed pretty saison-like to me. Quite herbal, with the lemon verbena and sage are over the top, with a bit of yeast showing but not much else. Nice for about 2 oz, but thatís about it. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2012
Draught. Pours a hazy golden color with a moderate white head. Sweet in both nose and taste, in the style. Not bad, but not my brew. DiarmaidBHK (4777) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 13, 2012
Draft at Tasty. Pours golden with a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Nice herb and floral notes on the nose. Apparently a lot of this beer is really locally sourced. A bit of funk on the tongue with a nice zest finish. Very solid.
