750 ml bottle from JCB- thanks, Jason! Bottle 070 of 800. Pours a cloudy plum brown color with some amber highlights and a thick, foamy off-white head that dissipates into a thin film quickly. The aroma started too light for me, but opened up after a few minute with notes of earthy funk, cinnamon, fruitcake, caramel malts, and plums- I like Jason’s "wild winter warmer" description. The flavor brings more of the funk, fruit, and spices evident in the nose. Maybe it’s persimmon I’m getting from this, but I wouldn’t know one if I saw one. Light-medium bodied, with abundant but soft carbonation and a juicy, funky mouthfeel. The hops seem to have fallen out and this really does take a little warming before it gets interesting. I’d drink this as fresh as you can and doubt it will get better. Cool beer.

22oz bottle I picked up at a artisans market at Union Market in DC. Pours a clear amber with some thin, eggshell head. Nose is interesting, some muddled dark fruit, plum, malt, some orange peel but then a lot of tomato and a little celery seed. 750 from Bruisin Ales. Pours a nice ruby dark color. Big burst of Dubbel/Quad flavor. Raisin. Plum. Some nice spices. Toffee. Caramel. Enjoyable.
