Decent but I wanted more of something, more hops or more kumquat. It felt lacking. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Old rating. Liked it but wanted more kumquat. Little bit heavy toasted grain body with orange peel hints.

On tap. Copper pour with a white head. Scent is bready and citrus. Taste is citrus and a hint of tartness.

On tap at the brewpub, Durham. Fairly deep orange pour, earthy and clean looking. Ever so modestly idiosyncratic in the nose, an acerbic fruit dollop to complement the dry hops. Mouthfeel is medium, and lightly (appropriately) prickly. Taste is dry and citric for the most part, and it’s a fairly refreshing if fairly unmemorable IPA.

On tap at Fullsteam. Pours a light copper color with a good white head. The nose carries some light citrus notes and bready malt. Flavor is lightly hoppy with notes of orange, plus some very light tartness and kumquat in the background. Medium body and somewhat bitter. Interesting.

emacgee (4676) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - JUN 25, 2012
Clean and soft copper pour with two fingers of sticky off white head. Nose is fruity, juicy fruit. Lightly citrusy with some chewy malt and a touch of sweetness and hints of toasted grain. Acidic/tannic fruit skins in the flavor with some citrus rind and soft fruit flavors. Medium bodied and dry.

Ok beer. The aroma is nice light hop and a little sweet/sourness going on. The appearance is copper and clear. The taste is a little like the persimmon beer they brew the citrus to me come across as more lime then orange or lemon with a medium bitterness and light sour finish. At 7% abv it will do just fine

durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 19, 2012
Draft. Pours bright coppery orange with a small white head. Nose is sweet, candied orange and faint hops. Tastes of bitter orange, which I guess is what kumquats taste like. Not very much like an IPA, but it has a pleasant bitterness and tastes fresh. I would drink this again.

TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 14, 2012
Tap at Tylers in Durham. Medium cloudy rusty copper with a small white lace. Nose is faint but slightly sweet and fruity, did not know about the kumquats but I guess I could see that. Slightly floral, light metal, fruity tartness. Not a lot of hops. Lightly bitter flavor, semi-sweet, and sorta watery and homebrewish.

OldGrowth (3474) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - JUN 9, 2012
At Pooles downtown diner. Ok aroma, sweet, fruity. Orange, with. What I assume is kumquat , tad earthy. Clean brownish orange color, ok head, no lace, sweet flavor. Lite body, smooth mouthfeel, sweet finish. Good, aroma maybe best part, orange pepper, kumquat. All come together nicely.
