COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with North Carolina wheat and locally-farmed basil, our most popular summer beer is an ever-changing feast for the senses. Summer Basil evolves over its five-month season, as local basil matures and fermentation temperatures rise. The saison yeast loves our hot summers, responding with a full-on punch of peppery, vibrant flavors. Its okay that this plow-to-pint beer doesnt always taste the same. Its a beautiful thing.
Availability: Summer, 22oz bombers at our tavern and select markets, including the Durham Farmers Market. 5% ABV.

Tallboy can from Wine Warehouse. Hazy yellow, large foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of strong, spicy basil and white bread. The taste is spicy basil, thyme, mustard, pale malt. Almost pickle juice. Thin, refreshing, but will get tiresome.

Pour is a hazy pale golden, almost like lemonade, with a huge white head. Aroma is some yeast notes with lemongrass and a herbal basil. Flavor is light and tangy with mostly basil coming after the swallow. This was a bit too light and watery with just enough herbal flavor to make this something a little different.

Pounder: Lemon, pesto, pear, and cobwebs aroma. Greenish yellow, clear, thick head. Basil and lemon. Cobweb and celery finish. Light body, moderate carbonation. I really love basil in saisons, its a perfect combination.

16 oz can served in a lager glass. May 2016 canning date. The body is hazy and very light yellow with a touch of green. Decent white head on top. Relatively delicate and clean flavor for style. Vegetative rather than fruity, but not in a bad sense. Vaguely herbal rather than obviously basil flavored. Tart aroma. Medium-light body with medium carbonation.

Pint can. From wine warehouse. Pours slightly hazy pale gold with white head. It's slightly herbal and lemon aroma. Flavor is lemongrass, definite basil, slight yeast. Finish is basil all over the place. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very nice clean flavoring. Smooth with a bit of tang but not too much to tweak the salivary twangs. Refreshingly crafted. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

16 oz can from Swamp Rabbit Grocery with bike ride. Perfect pairing with a hot summers day and bikes. Crisp and light. Farmhouse notes complement rather than overpower the basil. Some grass and pepper in there. Farmhouse ales have been said to be brewed to to" refresh, sustain and comfort a hard-working body and mind" and this does exactly that.

APPEARANCE- extremely light color, and bright with turbidity. Little whisps of head, but it laces well. NOSE- smells more like a spicy beer (corriander or similar) than basil. FLAVOR- also doesnt taste like basil, but it does taste very light, exhuberabt and summery. The more it warms and it washes the deliciousness from my prior beer down, I do get some hints of basil. NOTES- wasnt sure what to expect from the name. It tastes very summery at first and gives way to some basil. It is subtle, and well done.

Very brilliant, very light straw colored pour. Not much head, but what is there is eggshell white. No lacing. Very nice basil note with some lemon notes. Taste is creamy bitter lemon. Dry.
