A nice coffee sipper. Typical flavors of coffee, roast, tobacco, dark chocolate, fig, raisin. Up my alley as far as impy stouts go. A favorite. phaleslu (10462) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 10, 2017
12 oz. bottle from poisoneddwarf - thanks again! Pours an opaque coffee brown with a small tan head that settles into an uneven ring and thin film, leaving some ropes and spots of lace in the glass. The coffee here is super earthy, almost vegetal and rubbery in the nose, with dark chocolate, roasted malts, earth, tobacco, and slight ash. Medium-plus bodied, with moderate carbonation and a roasty, earthy, bitter mouthfeel. It’s only a few months old but I think it needs to be super fresh to be at its best. Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour opaque dark brown to black with moderate mocha head. Nose big dark roast coffee with some green chilies. Some chocolate and red fruit. Taste big coffee, red fruit, chocolate and sweet malt. Light bitter late palate. JStax (7015) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2017
12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Th beer is a near black with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma has huge roasted coffee bean and green pepper notes. Spicy and roasty dark chocolate. The chocolate aspects are a bit sweet, but the roasty coffee comes through in the finish. Thicker, almost creamy mouthfeel with a moderate carbonation.

Good Imperial Stout, but there’s not much coffee present. Aroma is dark malt and a little bit of black patent. Flavor is like nose. It’s fairly balanced between bitter and sweet and very easy drinking although the Finish is on the better side. balloonbuffoon (481) - - JAN 14, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2017 12floz bottle without a freshness date purchased as a single about four months ago (paid $3.39, Madison WI area). Poured into a pint glass on 01.14.2017. Opaque, near black, and little head for the appearance typical for the style. Not much going on in the nose, but this may be due to age or slightly stuffed nasal passages. Bold coffee notes seem to help cover the alcohol content. A pretty one-dimensional beer as its defined by straight forward dark roasted characteristics. It’s a fair robust stout, but doesn’t stand out style wise. I am open to trying other Fulton beers though, since I had one other beer by them that was pretty good. This particular beer isn’t technically flawed, just one that doesn’t meet my personal preference when compared to other coffee/imperial stouts. Minnesota Trip Beer #93. Keg at the brewery, 5/9/16. Dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of big coffee notes, roasted malt. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness. bigda83 (854) - Jamestown, New York, USA - JUL 22, 2016
Trade extra 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a medium creamy off white head. Aromas burst out with chocolate, coffee, soy sauce. Flavor follows the nose perfectly. Coffee is very well done and very pronounced in this. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, smooth finish. commonshawn (1297) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 14, 2016
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2016 Tap at brewery with commonmac. Black with tan head. Malty coffee nose with some chocolate . Sweet , sugary, good creamy coffee. Much less bitterness than others in style . Some chocolate and booze, but subtle and in balance. Finish is balanced and sweet. Booze comes out as it warms. Great beer.
