COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Garage Series.
Insurrection’s flavor profile is spearheaded by Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic hops added at a rate of nearly 4 pounds per barrel. Both hops are new breeds, and they combine to overwhelm the senses with an onslaught of citrus, white grape, and blueberry notes. An equally aggressive malt bill provides serious backbone and an ABV of just under 9%

Slightly cloudy orange. Big stanky Nelson nose. Bitterness is low to moderate. Average body but the Nelson shines in the flavor as well, though it’s a touch maltier than I’d like.

Bottle... Pours mostly clear and dirty orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. The bouquet is loaded with a bounty of tropical fruits and melons. Also, whispers of citrus fruits and afterthought of pine. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavors are bold and bittersweet with a moderate measure of rindy, citrusy, pithy hops. Finishes tongue-numbing and a tad acrid. Bottle courtesy of Bvery!

Tap at Winterfest 2013. Big hops! Hazy gold pour, very aromatic, and the hops are well balanced. Really liked this one!

Pour on tap at Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest, clear yellow-orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of nice pine, orange, grapefruit into a bit of lemon, some caramel, touch of biscuit, some earth. Taste was a mix of biscuit, bread, slight white fruit into a bit of orange, citrus notes, finishing fairly bitter. Pretty nice.

Bottle, from The Hoff43, I think. Slightly hazy reddish in color with a medium white head, excellent lacing. Nose is grapefruit and pine. Taste is mostly bitterness initially with a light citrus hop flavor. Medium to light body, moderate carbonation. overall, the hop flavor seems to be very subdued and light for a double IPA. bitterness dominates, and lasts into the finish. A moderate alcohol warming. just ok.
