COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Now nearly a forgotten style, Mild ale originates from England, where less than a century ago it represented the majority of beer brewed there. At 4.0% ABV, MPLS Mild is the definition of a session beer. Six grains, including flaked oats and Britain’s prized Maris Otter, lend it a garnet brown color, silky mouthfeel and surprisingly substantial body. The Mild greets your palate with a subtle interplay of nutty, roasty, and toffee malt character. It’s so easy to drink, you’ll soon find yourself ordering another, and another – if our brewers haven’t finished it all already.

Tap at Fulton. I did not pick up any off flavors at all here. Dark brown color. Roasted grain the aroma, burned toast. Malt flavor, dry, light to moderate roast. No complexity of course but this is fine for a mild.

Minneapolis, Mn - on tap at Fulton Beer Company after a Twins game.. Beautiful nitro pour, dark as night black pour, thick mocha colored head with nice legs of lacing. Aroma has some nice lactic notes, a touch of licorice. Flavor has some delectable tobacco notes, some chocolate goodness, a hint of licorice in the back end. Decently thick mouthfeel.

commonmac (1313) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 12, 2015
Tap at the brewery. Challenged by the bartender. Darker in color than expected. Dark amber. Tan head. Pint glass. Aroma has coffee elements. Taste is much milder than anticipated. Very thin mouthfeel. Malty and simple to drink. Nothing along the lines of hops not nothing was expected. Some caramel and coffee elements in the taste as well. Decent but unspectacular. Mild is very accurate.

deyholla (12033) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 10, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear brown with a slight amber hue and a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread with a bit of nuttiness and hints of toffee and roasted malts. Flavor drinks similarly with nuttiness and bread notes with some sweet dark grains and a touch of roast.

TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 10, 2015
Draft on tap at the brewery (Minneapolis, MN). Pours a deep brownish ruby hue, , a faint hazy dark middle with cascading deep reddish glow through the body. Pretty color with frothy tannish head atop. Nicer ring and frothy layer sits atop, filmy and spotty with solid lacing and stick around. Aromas are toasty and carmelized, biscuit and chestnut with earth, caramel and toasty malts. Oat, some earth, toast and bitter earthy hops. Initial is lighter end of the fold, decent bitterness and earth, toasty and floral with biscuit and nut, toasty life and bitter earth. Dry, a touch of girth this one is bitter on the backend. Pleasant darkness, toasrt, faint dark fruit wafts but more toasty and earthy overall. A nice sessioner.
