At Fulton, we love hops. That star in our logo is made out of hops, in case you hadnt noticed. Of course, the hops plant contributes to the character of all of our beers, but sometimes we just want more. Thats why we decided to brew the Sweet Child of Vine. Generous quantities of Simcoe and Glacier hops are added throughout the boil. Then, late in the fermentation process, we infuse the Sweet Child with another dose of Glaciers, imparting a bouquet of hop aroma that veritably bursts forth upon serving. But dont let all this talk of hops mislead you. The Sweet Child has a serious malt backbone to stand up to all those hops, creating a delightful balance that will keep you coming back for more. Its an IPA, Fulton-style.

Caramel orange in color... Smells like the first pitch of hops into the brew kettle... Flavor is tea, berries, earthy hops... Great beer, nice break from west coast IPAs ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Clear amber color. Rocky off white head. Aromas: resinous at first, but that quickly makes way for lots of red fruit, caramel, some light hoppiness. Flavor is light bitter, slightly droppig (laurel/bay leaves?), light sweet, a bit dark malts. Light to medium bodied. Rather bitter finish. Im not sure how old this bottle was, but I expected a bit more...

Bottle Poured into a tulip. Clear golden color with tiny white bubbles. Faint non descript aroma. Nice caramel flavor with hop bitterness and hints of hop flavor. Good beer, meh IPA.

pours amber orange, off white head. sweet citrus aroma, taste is bitter. all very simple all around, and not in an astoundingly pure and wonderful way, just in a decent, but not good or great micro way.

Pours a golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma is earthy hops and caramel malts. The taste is earthy and a little bitter but not overly so. Sticky sweet malts as well. Honestly its not bad but its pretty boring.

Draft sample at the Minneapolis airport. Hazy pale amber in colour with medium carbonation. Simplistic IPA aroma profile with notes of sweet orange peel, pale malt, and a hint of spicy pine. A similar combo in the mouth, but with a nice herbal note combining with the spicy orange and stronger pine elements. Medium bodied with a moderate amount of bitterness for the style. A bit underwhelming, but no obvious flaws. Decent.

I personally found this to be an interesting contrast to American IPAs. Hoppy, but without the prominent citrus, pine , or resin notes that are typical of IPAs here. I cant come up with a good description other than perhaps earthy or more base. Bitter, but also subdued in this way as well.

Tap. Pint glass. Hazy cloudy red. A unique ipa with some heavy sugar notes. Full bodied. Aroma is of sweet hops. One of my standby beers in the twin cities.

Tap at Whiteys served up pint glass style. Color is borderline mahogany. A very deep copper. Head prevalent throughout consumption indicating some strong freshness. Plenty of hops to be found but not heavy on bitter mouthfeel. Strong piney aroma. Ends like an IPA should with some bite and a pleasant hoppy aftertaste. This one does indeed have eyes of the bluest skies.
