Bottle - Pours ruby black with a thin tan head. Nose is smoky and grainy with peanut butter notes. Taste is lots of charcoal malt, a little smoke, and lots of grain. Again, a little peanut butter. Thin body, fluffy with soft carbonation. commonmac (1367) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 13, 2015
Tap at the brewery. Snifter glass. Nice dark black color with a slightly tan quarter finger head. Aroma is relatively faint but brings roasted malt and slight coffee notes to the party. Hard to explain but a brightness to the beer at first sip that gives way to the stout strength as the sip continues. Definite coffee and roasted qualities but not an overwhelming presence. Nice balance and an easy drinkability despite the high alcohol content. Dangerous. A little bit of a nearly Belgian quad like essence which is probably why I’m on board. It is indeed worthy of a high rating. Might be the pinnacle of Fulton’s stable. Roonai (319) - - MAR 13, 2015
Tap at brewery. Pours dark mahogany w brown head. Nose is rich chocolate and maraschino cherries. Taste is the same with some sweet cherry and rich chocolate malts and molasses. deyholla (12583) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 13, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of dark grains and roasted malts with a hint of coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Flavor combines bitter dark grains, roasted malts and a touch of coffee underlying. vandc01 (454) - North Branch, USA - FEB 27, 2015
Poured from a 750ml bottle - aged a while because it has been sitting in my fridge for a long time.
Aroma - Dark chocolote - roasty coffee flavors - nice!
Appearance - Jet Black pour with a nice creamy head.
Taste - thick creamy - hints of booziness...and very nice.
Very nice beer - would definitely have again.

Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle poured into a glass. Black with small beige head. Aroma is dark malt, medium body, medium carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is dark malt, roasty, some herbal hops, and bitter dry finish. RobertDale (6980) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - FEB 9, 2015
12 ounce bottle. Pours black with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Very tasty. davey101 (751) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 8, 2015
Nose is roast, fudgey chocolate, light coffee grinds and vanilla. Taste is a nice balance of sweet rich chocolate and lightly bitter roast. Touch of caramel and coffee. Creamy and full. Just a really solid Russian imperial leaning on the sweet side. benfergy (248) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - JAN 25, 2015
Pours as a very thick dark brown beer. The aroma has notes of chocolate-ish malt. The taste is lightly sweet, with a tiny bitterness. The palate has great consistency and has a strong body. Great beer; in fact it may be getting me more interested in stouts.
