This style seems to do it for some, but not for me. Cumquat aroma, sour citrus upfront burst, little malt with a bit of a weird finish. Hoponmate (309) - NEW ZEALAND - NOV 18, 2016
Slightly lemony floral taste akin more to a Xtra pale ale than an IPA. Extremely smooth and malty taste with a very slight bitterness. Skarecrow (985) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 18, 2016
330ml can. explosivedog (1697) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 14, 2016
Light gold color with huge head.
Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, pine resin and grass.
Mild bitterness is followed by a mild body with some hop overtones.
Pretty ho hum for an IPA.
330ml can. Aroma is hay, herbs and a ton of malts. Taste is a little better, with some grapefruit and lemon over all those malts. Aftertaste is a bit rough. Really quite disappointing. Samtzu (608) - Palmerston North, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 5, 2016
330ml can. First off fantastic design for the can. Solid gold pour with middle level white head. Strong bitter taste which follows through with a nice floral palate.

I made a note on my phone about this after tasting it. The note simply said "sophisticufu ok". I can’t remember anything else, I’m afraid, but by this stage of the tasting evening, this was my 10th sample. So I’m just going to stick with "OK" and try it again, but earlier in the evening next time DylansDad (664) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 10, 2015
Good balance between malt and hops, erring slightly towards the hops. Grapefruit, earthy wet leaf litter, conifer, stonefruit and the same slightly cheesy potpourri funk that I found in their other beers. Flavours open up as it breathes in the glass and more orange notes come through. Body is the thicker end of medium. Nice level of wood and tobacco bitterness. First sips are a bit "yeah, nah", but by the end it’s all "Hell, yeah". mkel07 (6462) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 11, 2015
Taster at GABS Melbourne 220515. My first beer from Funk Estate and it was a good one. Lively and hoppy but not too in your face.
