Bottle @ RBWG 2016. Turbid reddish beer with a white head. Tart raspberry and a touch of jam. A bit on the seedy side with some tannic fruit skins. A little bit of funk. Somewhat oaky and has a nice dry, sour finish. Has an almost perfumey floral character to the nose. Pretty juicy. Nice stuff. DSG (15519) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 12, 2016
[1/30/16] Bottle sample at the Encomium bottle share, after RateBeer Best awards ceremony at Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel in Santa Rosa. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Murky red. Sour berries, funk, lacto. Sour, juicy. Mark000 (1) - - FEB 8, 2016 does not count
This stood out among many great Funk Factory and other beers throughout the evening. I really enjoy the balance. There are way too many AWAs that are all about the pucker factor. This isn’t one of them. Well done! beerandbourbon (7) - - FEB 7, 2016 does not count
After sitting down with a few of their bottles, I’m blown away by what these guys are doing. Full fruit flavor on a bed of funk with a nice dry finish. Truly an outstanding beer that could compete with the best Belgian versions. marcus (10979) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 30, 2016
At ratebeer awards bottle share. Pours reddish brown woth a modest pinkish head and a fruity aroma. There is a subtle raspberry flavor with a dry finish. Lovely.

This is easily a top AWA from 2015. Think NG VSB with funk. One of the few closest beers to the other side of the pond produced in the US that I have had. vtafro (7453) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JAN 5, 2016

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a hazy purple with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong funk, oak, berries. Thick mouth, jammy berries, nice funk, light tartness, really enjoyed this. phaleslu (11003) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 20, 2015
750 ml bottle shared by Chris at Mark’s gigantic tasting. Thanks again, Chris! This was one of the closers for the evening for me, and it was a worthy nightcap. Pours a deep, hazy ruby color with minimal head that vanishes pretty quickly. Lovely shade. Big, rich, dark raspberries, with deep florals, cherry, funk, lemon, and oak. The berries suggest both pie and jam here. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a fruity, earthy mouthfeel. Quite lovely. Best Funk Factory offering I’ve had yet.
