Reddish amber with a crimson cap.
Nose is tangy red berries, oak, red grape must, plummy notes, dry rot.
Taste comprises sharp raspberries, dried fruits, damp wood, vinous notes, funk, tarte berry skins, grape must, light spice, fruit balsams.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close.
Decent enough fayre but overly sharp/vinegary and a little out of balance for me. Ferris (17800) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 7, 2016

Bottle @ RBWG 2016. Turbid reddish beer with a white head. Tart raspberry and a touch of jam. A bit on the seedy side with some tannic fruit skins. A little bit of funk. Somewhat oaky and has a nice dry, sour finish. Has an almost perfumey floral character to the nose. Pretty juicy. Nice stuff.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a hazy purple with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong funk, oak, berries. Thick mouth, jammy berries, nice funk, light tartness, really enjoyed this. DSG (15519) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 12, 2016
[1/30/16] Bottle sample at the Encomium bottle share, after RateBeer Best awards ceremony at Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel in Santa Rosa. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Murky red. Sour berries, funk, lacto. Sour, juicy. phaleslu (11002) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 20, 2015
750 ml bottle shared by Chris at Mark’s gigantic tasting. Thanks again, Chris! This was one of the closers for the evening for me, and it was a worthy nightcap. Pours a deep, hazy ruby color with minimal head that vanishes pretty quickly. Lovely shade. Big, rich, dark raspberries, with deep florals, cherry, funk, lemon, and oak. The berries suggest both pie and jam here. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a fruity, earthy mouthfeel. Quite lovely. Best Funk Factory offering I’ve had yet. marcus (10977) - Sacramento, California, USA - JAN 30, 2016
At ratebeer awards bottle share. Pours reddish brown woth a modest pinkish head and a fruity aroma. There is a subtle raspberry flavor with a dry finish. Lovely. kraddel (9440) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - MAY 14, 2017
Thnx to david . Pours dark redpurple. Small white head. Smell is super intense fruity. Mildly acidic, oak. Taste is very full, intensely sour, but with a very decent complexity. High carbo. Ok, bit astrigent MF. Sourness is perhaps a bit too high , as this is really vinegar / acidic. Nice beer though.
