Sampled on 9/29/2012. This fruit beer pours a murky dark reddish brown color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized beige foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, cherry and earthy, with some wood and some yeast. A medium to full bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, lots of semi sweet cherry flavors. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Its a touch tart and a little funky, with nice cherry flavors. I am not sure it was what I was expecting, it certainly is not all that saison like, but the flavors mix and match well. The fruit flavors work well with the earthy barnyard yeasty aspects. Really hides the 9.5% alcohol very well. The tartness increases as it warms. Interesting beer. I can see where there would be a large diversity of options on this merits or lack of them for this beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet, tart and funky.

Draft at brewpub. Pours ruby red with a thin white head that doesnt leave any lacing. Nice cherry notes on the nose. A bit sour on the tongue with only hint of cherry on the tongue. Finish lingers a bit. Solid.

Tap at brewery. Murky rosy brown with a thin off-white cap head that sticks mostly around the edge of the glass. Aroma is a nice mix of subtle un-tart (but still sweet) cherries (expected), barn funk, hay, and light pale malt sweetness. The taste greets you a little bitter and funky bit quickly melds into a cherry-tinged barn-funky, earthy, grainy, and farm yeasty. A little dry and dusty. Not shabby, but I think I would have liked a more stereotypical sweet candy-like cherry tone.

Bottle at a tasting. Reddish brown color. Mostly cherry ad sweetness, with some bready malts. Not much saison going on here. Not that good.

Bottled. Thanks adnielsen for the bottle. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with tan head. Aroma of cherry sweetness. Cherry, cough syrup, and light bread flavors. Not one of my favorite beers from Funkwerks. The cherry cough syrup flavor dominates and you dont really get any of the normal saison characteristics from this beer.

750 ml bottle. Sweet. Pours a rich hazy amber caramel hue, a decent haze with a frothy offwhite head, thicker full film laces ok overall. Aromas are sweeter, with a discinty yeastiness. Touches of cherries coming in, getting a touch medicinal, with some dry funkiness, yeast, and sweeter caramel. Odd. Initial is Medium bodied, offering some sweeter toffee, biscuits, and toast. Gentle yeastiness grows, spice, and yeasty bread dough. Touches of cherries, skin, and tannins. A touch of sweetness grows, some gentle estery fruit. More cherry, gentle yeastiness, cough syrup. Finish and backend is lingering cough syrup, gentle sweetness, spice. Really odd beer. Seems unlike just "Cherry" blasting their base beer. Seems like a sweet big beer that turned into a Belgian/Cherry beer. Medicinal. Not my thing, but can place some value in it..

Pours a dark reddish color with a small off-white head. Heavy cherry aroma, a little bit artificial and sweet, though. A light spice aroma to it. Sweet cherry, spices, sweet bread and wheat.
