Chalky blond and an effervescent white head. Tart, lactic aroma of bright fruit, ginger and pepper. Light to medium bodied with full flavor, still tart , but also malty and spicey. Nicely dry and lemony in the finish with just the right touch of ginger. I can’t tell what the other reviews were complaining about, maybe it needed the full 6 months in the bottle. It’s like a tripel with apricot. This beer is tasty, complex and well-structured.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark gold with a large, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is apricot, grains of paradise, light biscuit malt, heavier straw and meal malt notes, pepper and ginger, and barnyard yeast. Flavor is malt forward with barnyard yeast, light hops and medium bitterness, pepper, apricot, and ginger with a dry finish. Medium-light body, medium carbonation.

Bottle at Jdadmond’s Dadtoberfest tasting courtesy of Max. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Musk, fruit, spicy notes, a touch of cardamom, pepper. Medium bodied, sweet and spicy, nice yeast with a good amount of phenols, musk and toast. Very easy drinking, nice musk and spicy notes into the finish. Very nice.

On hand at Wynkoop’s United Tastes of Belgium 2012. Slightly hazy light gold in color, with a peppery apricot-y aroma atop some Belgian pale graininess. Flavor was nice and eccentric, with apricot and peppercorn and grains of paradise coming through very well. Finished a little grainy and funky, but still fun to drink.

Bottle at Dadtoberfest. Hazy gold with a white head. Peachy sweetness, light peppery spices, with some funky/musky notes in the background. I don’t know what the hell is going on here, but it’s pretty good.

750 ml punt bottle poured a clkear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, apricot, white pepper, citrus, light ginger and light yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, white pepper, citrus, light apricot and light ginger with a crisp dry lingering peppery finish.

"A rather untraditionally full bodied pilsner. Dry bready and a bit sweet, with some grassy hops and hay and a slight tartness to make things interesting. Not bad. "

Tap @ Tap & Bottle, seems to be unretired? Cloudy, bright yellow color, nose is overwhelmingly isoamylacetate at first but when swirling develops some of those typical grains of paradise notes: fresh, gingery, white pepper. Also quite a bit of lemon and lemongrass. Mouthfeel is crispy, could maybe do with a little bit more carbonation, light body. Finishes fairly fruity and not very long lasting. Seems like a very nice thirst quencher to me but there’s a little too much going on on the nose. I would have preferred either lemon or pepper aroma to be dominant.
