From the brewery, this pours a hazy straw into the glass, with an immense ivory head that keeps an inch-thick head throughout, leaving chunky lace down the Trappist glass. The nose has nice yeasty esters, fruit and doughy notes. Flavors have lots of lemon, grains, wheat and hay, finishing with a grassy note. The light body is very active with carbonation, but has enough substance to provide complexities. The lemony barnyard effervescence goes on for days. A quaffable brew, this is very tasty and perfect for the summer! I am so glad to have made Funkwerks a stop on my Colorado brew tour! Simply gorgeous brewing here, with a real handle on the Belgian style. Reynolds314 (3472) - Connecticut, USA - JUL 13, 2013
So close to being charming that that is almost charming. Everything is subtle and nice with grape, grass, herbs, dough, and toast all in the background. The only issue is nothing is in the foreground so you are left wanting a bit more out of it. Great beer nonetheless. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Strong Belgian flavors, kinda like a tripel, not much like the hops, spicey, good offering Steve_0 (3818) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 11, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2014 Bottle at home with friends. Pour is hazy lemon peel with a huge white head and great lacing. Fruity, tangy, lemon peel, doughy, light straw, grass, citrus, coriander, and lightly earthy aroma. Taste is lemon peel, grassy, slightly bitter, fruity, slightly floral, clove, light banana, a touch of herbs, ending with a lightly spicy finish. Medium body with high carbonation. UPDATED: OCT 5, 2013 Bottle @ home picked up at Funkwerks. Prototype bottle release. Pours a cloudy, light yellow appearance with a big white head. Weedy, skunky herbal, fairly spicy yeasty, white wine, apple aroma that’s kind of strange. Fairly dry, crisp grainy, lemon, white grape, potpourri, herbal/floral hoppy flavor. Carbonation is really heavy. I love Nelson Sauvin hops but this one really didn’t hit the spot for me.
