The beer you are holding is unique. A special strain of yeast and a warm fermentation produces a beer of exceptional flavor and aroma. An extended secondary maturation and bottle conditioning ensures all these unique qualities are preserved and evolve over time. Serve at 50°F in a tulip glass.

What to expect
This tawny orange beer pours with a rocky white head. Aromas of passion fruit, tangerine, and black pepper hit the nose. Flavor is a cascade of orange, lemon verbena, ginger and pepper. And in a second it is gone, finishing with a dry and lingering bitterness that awaits another sip.

Cellaring Information
Store upright in a dark dry place at cellar temperature (ideally at 50 degree). Cellar limit is 2 years.

Tap. Aroma and taste of a wheat beer. Some slight citrus and pepper on the nose. In my humble opinion, I don’t think this is a good representation of a Saison style.

Gold with a white head. Nose is dry, earth, funk, grass and herbs. Smooth palate, earth, herbs, florals, spices, and dry finish.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2017 On tap. Pours clouded straw gold, good white head. Aroma of peach, bubblegum, floral and yeast funk. Taste of same with some lemon zest, earth, soap and soda water. Mouthfeel is mod for style with heavy carb. Almost that of seltzer. Finish is slightly funky for style. Expected more yeast influence for style. More hop bitter in finish.

Tap @ Angels Trumpet Ale House: Cloudy gold with a fresh yeast aroma. Banana peels. Smooth flavor and true saison instead of the popular sour/saison mix.

Very straight forward Saison. Doesn’t have the quality or character of a Fantome or Dupont. If this is their top offering I see no need to delve further in to their line up. Solid beer, but there are many, many better examples.

Very sweet hoppy. Very forward French yeast. Smooth enjoyable. Tangy. Smooth wow. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Imazato. Big sweet fruity, peachy nose, with some honey notes. Dark amber/straw color. Thick sweet peach, moderate bittering. The bittering seems a bit much for this style. Medium body. Tasty, but overall a bit too heavy and sweet -- not cloying exactly, but a bit much.

KyotoLefty (11018) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 12, 2016
Tap at Imazato. Deep gold, hazy, with lace. Nose of peaches, grains, light citrus. Grainy flavor, lemon / grapefruit, light funk. Sweet and a bit heavy and thick. Not so impressive.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear gold with very little head that dissipates almost instantly. Light lemon and floral-forward nose with some bubblegum upon opening. Light farmhouse notes as it warms up. Medium to low carbonation. Light yogurty tartness with lemon zest and meringue towards the finish. Finish is a tad boozy, but nice tartness, without being sour. Decent.

On tap at Angel’s Trumpet Ale House, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out some rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and biscuity malt. Flavour is complex, with lots of rustic farmhouse notes, citrus and Belgian yeast. Not a totally authentic saison, but better than most, that’s for sure. Complex and well-constructed. Excellent.
