COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Solenna pairs the fruitiness of a traditional Belgian yeast strain with the subtle spicy character of Brettanomyces and the floral notes of German hops. Notes of candy apple, cinnamon, and fresh-cut grass give way to a dry finish and firm lingering bitterness.

At my place with Taylor, Matt, and Jake. Pour is clear browns with a layer if white beer. Aroma is Brett, hay, straight saison notes. Taste is Brett, some full bodied notes, sweet, fizzy funk. Finish is funky and nice.

Bottle courtesy of @@ron. Opened @ Bobby’s house. Amber pour with a huge khaki head. Crazy nose. Pineapple, peach, herbs, and tart stone fruits. A bit funky, too. Light malt sweetness. Flavor is subtle tart and quite dry. Light malt flavor and sweetness. Lots of herbs, yeast, and earthy funk. Tart stone fruit (apricots?), some peach, and citrus zest. Lots of carbonation.

750mL thanks to womencantsail. Pours overcarbonated, big massive Orval like foam, volcanic/rocky retention. Hazy reddish color. Nose is heavy Brett B, Orval like. Taste is essentially an Orval clone as expected- musty/dusty, heavy cedar. Palate is aerated, minerally. Very nice.

750 ml bottle crushed with TheDude. Pours a reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma of apple, belgian spice, some grassy hops. Flavor is dark fruit, apples, some spice. Quite sweet with some very mild bretty character. Some grassy earthy hops in a unconvincing attempt to balance this out. Mouthfeel is kind of flabby. A bit of a disappointment.

brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 8, 2013
Nice appearance with good head and lace. Dry, yeasty, way overcarbed -- even 2hrs after the bottle was initially opened. Smells boring as shit; bland malts and stale hops. True to the Funkwerks style: mediocre.

Bottle. From notes. Funky with some decent horseblanket and barnyard. A little light fruit also. Very good.

phaleslu (10100) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy mahogany color with a huge off-white head, rocky, that leaves some lace. Aroma of dark fruits, earth, toffee, bread, grass, and spice- mostly cinnamon. Flavor of mixed malts, tart and dried fruits, mild spice, and toast. Only mild bretty funk. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The brett is so subtle in this.

Bottle at RBSG. Pour is hazy with minimal head. Aroma is citrus and grassy. Flavor was some fruit but I got a lot of spice, cinnamon and others. P
