Growler shared by Cam. Pours dark brown to black with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark and sweet chocolate, dark cherry, some roasted malt, light earthy bitterness to the finish, sweetness is subdued, smooth and drinkable, hides the abv nicely. hopscotch (11177) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Draft... This beer rocks!... Pitch black ale with a huge, creamy, beige head that never fades. The nose furnishes big-time dark chocolate with a wonderful undercurrent of ripe black cherries. This really does smell like a chocolate covered cherry. Ultra full-bodied and super velvety with tickling carbonation. The flavor is totally smooth and nicely balanced considering the abv and final gravity here. Dark chocolate, black cherries and singed toffee with less prominent notes of blackstrap molasses and charcoal. Finishes sticky, fruity, burnt and bittersweet. World class imperial stout!
