COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We never shy away from flavor at Funky Buddha, and this beer is an example of that. Our smooth, luxurious milk porter is infused here with real cocoa nibs and cherries for that taste thats straight out of a box of chocolate truffles. Waves of coffee, chocolate, and cream descend into a lingering tartness and ripe, red fruit flavor from the cherries.

(Rating #10,900) Draft Pours mostly black with a small, creamy, taupe head. Decent retention. This smells a good bit like cherry cobbler to me - graham crust and all. There is a pleasant level of roastiness here as well. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. Tastes like sweet cherry cobbler with a deeply roasted (nearly burnt) crust. There are traces of spice and acidity. This is a little too sweet for me - even for a milk porter/sweet stout. The finish is sweet with smidgens of bitterness and acidity. Top notch stuff, but not sessionable because the sweetness becomes cloying and annoying. Enjoyability high. Drinkability low. Definitely worth a try, but I switched to something else after one glass.

Pours cola-black with a medium light tan head. Aroma is rich malts, chocolate and a sweet syrup. Tastes like a chocolate covered cherry with chocolate as the star. Pretty straightforward. Not bad.

Fflight pour on tap at the brewery (Oakland. Park, FL). Pours a deep dark brownish ruby hue, some blackish glow and dark reddish edges. Frothy reddish brown a frothy ring, mellow lacing atop. Aromas are nice and chocolatey, dark and creamy with a touch of vanilla, caramel and biscuit. Carmelized, earthy with milk chocolate, cherries and a touch of dark fruit. More cocoa nibs, dry and toasty, bitter chocolate. Initial is medium bodied, a bit of creamy and dark chocolate melange, mousse and toasty malts. Tootsie rolls and touches of black cherry, faint vanilla. Really strikes a potent flavor combo here, complex and deep. A light enough body to do some sessioning without being thin or baudy. Toasty, biscuity, some brown malts. Dry, a touch bitter with that lingering bitter chocolate. This is really good. A rich complex chocolatey appeal that rolls over the palate liberally. Delicious stuff, pretty hue and pour, and a nice nose that doesnt quite give you the goods. A winner.

Draft. A huge chocolate and fruity nose. Pitch black. Minimal light brown head. Excellent lacing. Taste is exactly as described. A decadent but not cloying chocolate with a sugary cherry finish. Always just the right amount of balance between sugar and roast. Very nice.

wow.............. Very sharp, strong, and shitty, semi-rotten flat cherry syrup flavored garbage. This is offensive.

Growler: Huge rocky tan head over a purple-ish brown body. The ashy, lightly roasted, sour cherry and dark chocolate aroma also has some band-aid esters as well. Smoked burnt malts with an odd sweetness countering the lactic twang and fruit. Seem at odds with itself. The mouth feel after the initial carbonation wears off is sort of blah, again ashy and medicinal. This should be nutty, sweet and lush but alas is none of that. Yet another disappointing beer from this brewery.

Uhhhhh reallly? Black color with tan head. Aroma is oddly fermented trash, berrys, coffee grounds, earthy and chemical sweet. Taste is misplaced sweetness, tartness and earthy cocoa. I dont dig this. Sorry.
