COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our double brown ale is deceptively smooth in character, with a full-bodied, round richness that masks its potency. English malts and select hops combine to create a big beer suitable for that subtle change in weather we Floridians call "winter."

Medium brown. Earthy and very slightly toasty nose. Decent sweetness but also a bit thin and tart. Doesn’t hold enough sugar to really work.

Had on draft at the Lounge in Boca Raton. Pours a deep, heavy brown with a thin tan head. Slight lace. Serious nut, roasted malt, caramel, slight peat and earth nose. Taste is nuts, caramel, roasted malts, wood, and vanilla. Heavy mouth and chewy. Finish is thick malts and caramel. Not very booze finish either for a 9.8%.

My Bottom Line:
Beautifully nutty from aroma to finish, this elegant Imperial Brown Ale also showcases harmonious floral angles which seem to help the malt profile linger and linger.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A crown of foam is placed upon the darkest brown.
-Alcohol warmth is quite light for 8%.
-This isn’t one of those heavyweights that obliterates the tastebuds. It’s a delicate yet deep brew which is as flavourful as it is impeccably rendered.
-Nut aromas and flavours are redolent of hazelnuts and nut skins.

On tap at the brewery taproom.

On tap at the brewery, pours a mahogany brown color with a nice java head. Nose is actually hoppy. Taste is actually hoppy, more than a straight ahead malt. Finish is bitter, and somewhat woody, Average at best. quaff score 6 / 10

Tap at the lounge. After finishing my sampler flight I decided it wasn’t quite time to leave even though it was quarter to 2 in morning on Monday night. So I upped the abv so I could hopefully sleep later. Pours nice brown with malty and nutty nose. Tastes of coffee, nuts, malt, earth, and burnt toast. Decdent brown ale hides alcohol well

Nice smokey aroma. Sweet dark smokiness in flavor. Enjoyable in flavor. Dark Carmel comes through to make an easy drinking high gravity enjoyable beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft... Murky brown ale with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head and fat bubbles scattered about. The chocolaty, nutty nose offers a faint vinous note. Medium to full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor is bittersweet, consisting mainly of cocoa and ethanol. Finishes burnt and bitter with an alcohol burn. Rough around the edges, this one. Not a typical Buddha effort.

On draft at the Buddha. Very similar to their Doc Brown but just amped up a little. With the ABV being at 9.8% you’d think it be a little boozy, however that just isn’t the case. Drinks like a standard brown ale with a nice caramel/brown sugar finish. Very good showing here.
