Draft... Pours clear and amber with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Great retention. The aroma is too restrained. I’m trying hard and pulling nothing from it. Inoffensive at least. Full bodied with subdued carbonation. Mild hop flavor. Mellowed and balanced by time spent with the toasted oak. Not a whole lot going on here. juiceisloose (1498) - Windermere, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2015
On draft at Funky Buddha. Pours a mostly clear, dark orange color and topped by a thick layer of off white foam that shows good retention. The head slowly fades to a thin film and leaves streaks of lace on the glass. The aroma shows notes of citrus fruit with orange and grapefruit most prominent to go with the citrus hops and nice addition of toasted oak and vanilla. The flavor follows suit with the orange and grapefruit up front along with the citrus hop bitterness on the back end. The toasted oak, vanilla, and some spice balance out the bitterness and adds a hint of sweetness. The toasted oak really adds some nice layers to a solid base beer. Medium bodied and smooth on the mouthfeel with ample carbonation that leads to a bitter sweet and oaky finish. This is a tasty and really solid wood aged IPA. Definitely up there with the best of them. Good stuff. PorterPounder (8169) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 13, 2014

Draft at the brewery. a wonderful expression of oak and vanilla character comes through in the nose and flavor. some moderate bitterness, slightly pithy and grapefruit. the hop flavor seems to have faded a bit compared to my recollection of the regular hop gun, but this rivals white oak jai alai for one of my favorite wood aged IPAs snoworsummer (5911) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2014
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear copper brown with a fizzy white head. Tastes like tropical fruit and buttery wood, but kind of chalky. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like creamy, nutty, slightly sweet oak. sonnycheeba (6214) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 3, 2014
Tap at brewery. Pours clear copper/amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, light oak, floral notes, mixed berries, faint candy sugar, and faint vanilla. Flavor is sharp hop bitterness forward with some supporting floral notes, caramel malts, and faint dates; dries out through the finish where the oak becomes noticeable. Medium body and carbonation. theisti (4156) - Kansas, USA - DEC 19, 2013
4 oz sample draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is mostly clear darker copper. The aroma is soft wood, along with some floral and the resin of the base IPA. The taste is huge on the oak wood, immediate, and sustaining. Along with the wood as a bit of butter character. The resin of the IPA is really buried below the wood, and is barely discernible. The palate is medium bodied, low, almost flat carbonation. This was well enough made, just didn’t work for my personal taste.
