COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this imperial stout to be big, bold and strong, like a bear-hugging Russian wrestler. A thick body using oats and lactose is complimented by plenty of complex chocolate, cocoa, and caramel undertones, before finishing on a balanced roasty note.

Poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of roasty malt, dark fruits, light ashy. Flavor similar, a little astringent. Ok.

From notes. Enjoyed at a bottle share at Seans on December 29. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a lighter black with a lot of brown accents on it. There is a larger medium tan head that falls down slowly, leaving a light lace. The aroma is full of roasted malt right up front. There is a hint of chocolate, a light licorice, and some pretty hefty booziness. Its not terrible, but there is just a little too much booze for my liking. The flavor is a little similar. The alcohol calms down a little, which is good. Its still got a heavy bitter roast, a strong licorice, and a touch of chocolate going on. Its very intense, but not bad. The mouth feel is a little lacking. Its slick and softly carbonated with a lingering bitter alcohol left on the tongue. Not a bad beer.

Bottle shared @ home. Dark brown/black colour, creamy brown foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, syrup, cocoa. Sweet taste with enough roasty bitterness and hoppiness. Good but not the best imperial stout.
