We brewed this imperial stout to be big, bold and strong, like a bear-hugging Russian wrestler. A thick body using oats and lactose is complimented by plenty of complex chocolate, cocoa, and caramel undertones, before finishing on a balanced roasty note.

Thnx to dowan . Pours black, small grey head. Smell is sharp, mild toffee , roasted. Dark chocolate. Taste is strong , coffee, mild toffee, sharp, ok carbo, rather low body. Nice, but not their best

Bomber via trade. Poured a medium density deep Tootsie Roll brown with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma is nice chocolate muffin mix, toast, dark cherry skins, cola, soy sauce and earth. Flavor is chocolate and vanilla muffins, light earth, slight booze, cola, wet burnt notes. Body is medium at best, almost watery, lighter carbonation. Nice but not amazing.

Schwarz, süßlich in der Nase, schön cremig weicher Körper, schokoladig im Abgang, super trinkbar

22 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. Strong rich aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roast and booze. Jet black with a film of light brown foam. Tastes a little underwhelming. The roast and coffee is there, but it’s a little muted. Palate is too watery for such a big beer. This wasn’t bad, but it needs a stronger taste and mouthfeel.

egajdzis (6501) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 3, 2017
Opaque black, small, light tan head and nice lacing on the glass. Roast, chocolate, sweeter caramel, a bit of char in there as well.

brokensail (16432) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 26, 2017
Bottle @ Mike’s House. Thanks, Mike. This was, ah, not good. Just an overwhelming amount of char and smoke here. Super, super ashy beer. I guess there is some dark chocolate and coffee in there, but hard for me to get passed the ash tray qualities. The flavor isn’t really any different from the aroma. Mild sweetness followed by hyper-bitter ash, roast, char, and smoke qualities. Also thin and acidic which isn’t helping anything. No thanks.

decaturstevo (6240) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - FEB 14, 2017
Black pour with tight tan head and lace. aroma is chocoffee and roasty. Flavor is sweet chocolate start with a coffee kicker. Full bodied and smooth with just the right warmth. Sweet medium bitter finish. Delicious

Poured a darker brown with a beige head. Aroma was of roasty malt, dark fruits, light ashy. Flavor similar, a little astringent. Ok.
