COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional German Berliner weisse beers are tart affairs, often sweetened by the addition of woodruff syrup. Brewed with white wheat malt and fermented with lactobacillus, our tart Berliner riffs on this popular German tradition with the inclusion of juicy passionfruit. The lush, tropical, and mildly grapefruity notes of the passionfruit offsets the inherent tartness of the beer, making for a intoxicatingly fruity, yet refreshing experience.

Small growler shared thanks to Dave. Pours a murky lemon juice with a green hue. Smell is tropical fruit and wheat. High carbonation, thin mouth feel, and finishes mouth-tingling dry. Minerally, very tart, with tons of fruit like mango, peach, lemon and lime. Very acidic finish, but refreshing and one of the best Berliners I’ve had to date.

Small shortlasting head. Aroma loaded with passionfruit. Very fresh, still slightly sweet and refreshing. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, mild passionfruit juice, sorrel, grass, grapefruit, grain, lemon. Little bitterness, nice dry acidic mouthfeel. Very nice!

Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, blue session. 02/05/2014. Aroma is huge fresh passion fruit, bursts from the glass. Lovely with delicately tart and wheat. Clouded yellow / straw coloured pour with a light loose white head. Flavour is fresh passionfruit with a nice tart sharp bite, some other tart fruits raspberry. Light acid tartness lingers. Palate is very dry and sharp. Really very good.

Habanero (4844) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2014
Tap. Pours hazy golden with a small, white head. Aroma of passion fruit, wheat, citrus notes and green grapes. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied, watery texture and soft carb. An excellent and crisp Berliner W.

humlelala (1375) - DENMARK - JUN 11, 2014
(on tap @ Mikropolis Copenhagen) Pours a hazy golden with no head and floaties. Aroma is solidly fruity with dominant passion fruit notes to the point of reminding me of some infant formula yoghurt with fruit juice. There’s not much detectable lactic sourness or tartness in the aroma. Flavour is mildly sour lemon but this is offset well by the pungent passion fruit sweetness. Muthfeel is oily, carbonation is soft, body is medium and the finish is mildly tart.

From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is olid passion fruity. Peachy and citrusy. Citric, peachy and dry passionfruity. Citric and dry finish.
