Draft... Clear, deep, dark crimson ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The aroma is a collection of malty, fruity components all working synergistically toward a great smelling beer - chocolate milkshake, rye bread flanked by strong suggestions of dark raisins, toasted nuts and caraway seeds. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with vibrant carbonation. The flavor is a bittersweet mishmash of dark raisins, malted rye, caraway seeds, roasted pistachios and milk chocolate. Finishes with a silken swirl of opulent mocha. There are so many conflicting grains and dissonant adjuncts included in the recipe of this beer that it could have ended up being a rare Funky Buddha misstep, but it’s not. Ryan & Kevin don’t like to pour beer down the drain, so they simply don’t screw up. dimenhetfield (2554) - , Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2012
On draft at the Buddha. Brown color with a slight reddish tint. Nice hoppy aroma mixed with a subtle hints of raisins. Flavor was mostly malty but had a nice sweet finish. Another great showing from the Buddha crew!
