One of my favs at Funky Buddha. Snifter. Pours a very dark brown, opaque with thick head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts and leather. Taste is almost all roasted malts with bitter hops. Extremely well balanced and finishes slightly dry and bitter. Very very good. Just wish they’d make it more often.
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2017 Tap at the brewery. Hoppy with grapefruit, darkened malt, herbs. Herbal with dark malt. Slick palate with sweet milky finish. juiceisloose (1543) - Windermere, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2017
Draft at Funky Buddha from old notes. Pours a dark brown color and capped by a small beige colored head that recedes quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of big pine resin, citrusy hops with hints of orange and grapefruit, light roasted chocolate malts, and hints of grass. The flavor follows suit with the citrus fruits of oranges and grapefruit up front followed by grass, pine, and dark roasted chocolate malts. Medium bodied with balanced carbonation that leads to a slightly dry and bitter sweet finish with lingering notes of roast. Solid and easy drinking black ipa. jtclockwork (17278) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 27, 2016

Hazy medium brown, nice leafy hop and richly toasty malt, a bit thin, so mostly a burnt roast comes through and the hop is gone...ok it doesn’t finish well. Theis (15151) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 30, 2014
Draught at MikkellerBar. Cloudy brown - offwhite head. Spicy. Cinnamon. Spicy. Some burned malts. Ok bitterness. Resin. Kalk. Dryness. Light fatness.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, hops, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits, hopd, and roasted malt, leading to a bitter finish. Weezel (280) - Florida, USA - MAR 4, 2014
Aroma is all hops with big pine and some light citrus. Taste is great hoppy flavor and good mouthfeel but I wish it had the roasty malt backbone of a black IPA. Good and if I was blindfolded it would be a great straight up IPA.
