Draft at Funky Buddha for the grand opening. I knew immediately upon trying this that I would need to rerate it, cause it seemed to be off in its balance. This was intended to be a imperial stout but came in way below and it shows. Nose is nice with lots of roast and chocolate and the color is nice with a more or less black appearance and decent head retention. The flavor is hugely roasty up front, way more than you would expect for a regular stout. Some toast and ashy roast notes make there way through with a hint of chocolate and the finish is quite bitter. Its hard to say if it will change drastically when corrected, if they were going for a bitter, super roasty stout they got it but I didn’t get a balanced beer. I’ll definitely be trying this one again when they rebrew it. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - SEP 25, 2010
On tap at the Buddha for the grand opening. Has a nice dark color with a thin white, bubbly head. You get a good amount of chocolate, barley, and malts in the nose. The taste is like your standard stout without being overly bitter. All the flavors are held together really well. A really good stout.
