Bottle, thanks to darkguardian for sending it my way! Pours hazy amber/copper. Aroma of candied apples, pine, apricot jam.
In the taste I also get sour apples, jam, gummibear candy, citrus. Full bodied with a creamy, smooth mouthfeel. Quite different to most DIPA:s I’ve had, and a really good one. Man, I wish I could have this on tap at the source.

On Firkin at the St. Pete Craft Beer Expo 2011 as IP Firkin’ A. Pours a slightly dark hazy orange with a soft off-white head. Nose is a fair amount of caramel, orange, tangerine, some apricot, red grapefruit, and some slight pine. Flavor is similar with bursts of tropical fruit, deep citrus, and nice malt backbone supporting it. Medium in body and smooth in mouthfeel. Very nice. 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - JUL 30, 2011
On tap at the Buddha. Hazy burnt orange pour with an off white head. Sweet fruity/florally hop aromas. Good balance with grapefruit, tangerine, and citrusy hop flavors supported by a sweet caramel malt backbone. Well done...... burg326 (5594) - Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2011
Draft pour at the Buddha, had a nice dark orange, amber color with aromas of pine and fresh citrus notes, big hoppy aroma. For a big IPA, you dont get much of the booze flavor, but did have a nice ctirusy twang, with hops. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - JUN 16, 2011
On draft at the Buddha. Notes are a few weeks old but better late then never. Nice aroma of earthy pine with citrus and hops. Not overly hoppy but still pleasant. Flavor was a tad sweet with a big malt presence along with a wee bit of citrus. Overall I liked it but would have loved more hop presence.

Draft… This beer rocks!… Hazy burnt-orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is a hoppy assortment of tropical fruit, citrus fruit and resin - caramel and toffee malts as well. Full-bodied with a chewy, then raspy mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor leans sweet, but is chock-full-of delicious and fruity hop essences. Finishes bittersweet with tons of tropical fruit. Dries out in the end. My kind of double Ipa. Maybe a touch under-attenuated, but a world class brew nonetheless!
