Appearance is lacking on this, as it poured with foamy head that faded very fast. Color is of murky cola. Aroma is malt, nuts, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, malt, nuts. Overall mouthfeel seems watery and sweetness is the most notable lingering flavor Hildigöltur (5103) - København, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2007
Bottled. Brown coloured. Malt and caramel aroma. Sweet malty rye bread flavour with notes of caramel and coffee. Soft mouthfeel. BeerViking (5041) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2011
500ml flip-top bought in Germany. Pours a deep reddish brown with a big beige head, aromas of sweet malt and caramel, and a hint of bread dough. More caramel on the palate but with a nice balancing peppery hoppy bite and a drying malty finish. A light tang of dark fruit and dry cocoa in the tail. Very nice. jbrus (4988) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 21, 2006
Bottled. Hint of chocolat in the aroma, also a bit dusty and carbonation smell. Dark brown color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, light roasted, light bitter, hint of chocolat, not very strong flavors except for the sugar, bit thin soft. Made me think of supermarket beer but not a bad one this time. SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Bottle: Poured a caramel brown with thick tan head. Aroma is sweet malts. Taste was more sweet malt with barley and grain.

Appearance: Pours a chestnut brown body with some amberish tones present.
Smell: A smell of toasted hearty dark bread, incredibly faint roast flecks, apple skin, and old, dried herbs.
Taste: Soundly toasty malts, a little hint of dark caramel, though not particularly sweet hiding what seems to be some grainy pils underneath. Even a touch of roast in there. Faint, faint touch of apple skin. Dried herbal tone from the hops with enough bitterness to balance things out.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Reasonably smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: A decent dark lager.
Bottled: Smoky, light sweet aroma. Chestnut brown, color, foamy, brownish head. Fresh, malty flavor, roasty and light fruity (cherries). Notes of toffee and smoked wood. Dry finish. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Bottle. Pours a very slightly hazy dark brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is quite malty with some caramel coming through in there. Taste is much the same and is a little bit sweet. unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - DEC 17, 2012
.5 liter swing-top bottle. BB: 25.09.13. Brown color, brown foam, great lacing. Aroma of toasted brown grains. Fresh aroma, smells like a fresh, hearty Dunkel. Light taste, toasted grains, grassy hops. Some flavors of chocolate, nice roast. Clean finish, hearty malt flavors. A suberb Dunkel! (3553) nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 23, 2012
The aroma is slightly toasted with paper, mixed grain, and chocolate. The appearance is light brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a mineral quality. The palate is a bit thin. Overall very weak and disappointing.
