The aroma is pretty non-descript but there’s something in the taste that I absolutely love! Just the right amount of honey, herbs and strong body. Of course I’m also biased since this beer always brings me back to Berlin.

(Fürstlich Drehna Schloßbräu Odin-Trunk) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into an english pint, ABV 5.4% Dark orange colour on the body, clear, two fingers of white head on top, with good retention, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of soap, malts, caramel. Taste is very sweet, lots of malts, light sugar, light honey, caramel, toasted malts, light toffee. Medium body, soft carbonation that fits good with the taste. Not bad if you like sweet beers.

Bottle from a markt on Kastanien Allee in Berlin. Pours golden amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma seems a combination of carmel and apple. Not quite med body. Very malty. Not very hoppy. There is a flavor, possibly from hop, that brings Morland’s Tanner’s Jack to mind. Quite different. Ok - mystery solved - honey!

madsberg (11776) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2014
Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Small off white head. Aroma. Sweetness, suggar, fruits. Flavour. Loads of honey, syrup/candy, fruits, spice. Medium bodied. Ends sugary sweet and ligth fruity. Not really my thing.

Holmen1 (6472) - Stavanger, NORWAY - SEP 4, 2014
Flaske delt på dag 2, RBHD-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: kort, storboblet skum. Klar kobbergylden farge. Litt honningsødme i aromaen og mer i smaken. Fin munnfylde, og den er lett å helle innpå, honningsødmen står ikke i veien. Rund og innsmigrende.

blackisle (2815) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - SEP 3, 2014
Bottle 33cl. Clear amber color, small frothy off-white head, recedes quickly, thin layer and minor lacing; aroma sweet malts, some honey, bread; taste is very sweet, honey and candy, low bitterness; light to medium body, sticky texture, low carbonation; sweet sticky finish, some honey. Not my thing.

Holmen2 (4034) - NORWAY - AUG 30, 2014
Dark orange. Dense off-white head. Fruitness, sweetness and caramel in aroma. Fruity and very sweet taste with berries. Moderate bitterness adn short aftertaste. Round mouthfeel.

abemorsten (3683) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - AUG 30, 2014
Shared bottle during RBHD Mosterøl gathering. Small white head on a clear nut golden body. Honey dominates the nose but boiled leaves comes through. Honey also dominate the mouth but with a leafy bitterness balance some of the sweetness. Medium bodied.
