My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

Aroma is apples and grainy/sweetish malts. The flavor is apples, fruit, mild effervescent body, malts and a tart finish.

12 oz bottle...pours an amber color small off white head...slightly sour aroma, yet clean.....the palate is thin/watery apple flavor....by the aroma I expected more

Nice idea if it didn't quite work. Appearance has a tiny bit of head, no lace, copper Amber clear color. aroma is marshmallows malt and cider. Flavor is an unpleasant blend of malty beer & cider. Somehow of the body doesn't work because of that unpleasant blend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light body. Reminds me of Redds. Sweet caramel apple aroma. Pretty good tasting. Kind of tastes like Spotted Cow with apples. Slight banana flavors as well. Not up there with New Glarus Apple Ale, but would drink again.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2014 Hazy copper color with small head. Sweet woodsy apple aroma. Taste - pleasantly surprised as I wasn’t expecting much. I was expecting a cider which I’m not too fond of and instead I got a cream ale with some sweet and tart apple flavors. Not as acidic as a cider and you get the grainy beer backbone. This is unique and a fine summer session ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle 5/3/14 (Woodmans- Waukesha)-Pours a clear goldfish amber with a small white covering. Aroma of caramel apple. Taste of tart, apple, bitterness, and sweetness. This light bodied brew is a bit different but still tasty.

Cloudy amber. Nose is caramel covered tart apple and sherry. Flavor is bitter, tart apple with wet malt. Bitter apple skin finish. Just not good.

Kinda strange yet I kinda liked it. Like half cider and half beer. Apple was predominant and beer flavors take back seat
