amber pour with a medium off white head.
aroma is fruity over fusel.
flavour is earthy, toasted malt, fruity and light piney hop.
Very dissappointed with this one. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JUL 24, 2013
Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear dark amber copper with a decent off white head, aroma was terrible by any means, more sweet malt than hops than anything, the flavor has a slight hop touch on the front end with a sweet finish, not a lot going on with this one but it’s drinkable, just not all that great. Won’t be picking this one up again. notalush (5876) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Clear copper - not sure what’s imperial about this - tastes like a regular old IPA - flavor is clean, moderate sweetness - hops taste very earthy, so much so that the beer kind of tastes like dirt at times - tastes like resin, pine - medium to high bitterness - some caramel notes on the end - light garlic - spicy and pepper finish - meh. Draft at Sugar Maple. An orange-tinged amber beer. Drinks wtih a funky earthiness, mashy and musty with a nutty, malt backbone. Rich mouthfeel. (#5159, 7/6/2013) BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Bottle. Orange gold pour with a small white head. Grass and line hops, might be a little stale - picking up some cardboard. Meh - I’ve had much better from this brewer.

Pours a pale orange color. With an off white head. Light hop, pine aroma. It's like a more subdued Cascade aroma. Taste is more hops and pine than expected from the smell. Good malt balance but the hops cut through. Slightly bitter finish, full bodied. Brisk, yet woodsy.

Poured form a bottle with a thick head. Medium piney hops and relatively strong malt underneath. Fruits and spices come through in the malt with a somewhat unexpected dry finish. A bit boozy. Decent, but not great. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 27, 2013
Bottle @ Greg’s house picked up in the Midwest. Pours a clear, dark orange appearance with a small off white head. Sweet bready, caramel malty, a bit spicy herbal bland hoppy aroma. Strong, somewhat boozy, spicy, chewy bready, bland herbal hoppy flavor. Not very good. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 25, 2013
Bottle - Pours clear amber orange with a huge foamy light tan head. Nose is lots of toasty malt, orange marmalade, and some piney, grassy hops. Taste is the same, but it’s pretty boozy and bitter. Grassy and piney hops, some citrus rind, and more toasted malt. It’s pretty bitter and sharp. Smooth and fine-bubbled, pretty slick. Not all that great. Bottle. Pours dark copper with some head. Weak aroma of piney hops. Taste is also piney, shocked this is a double IPA...or even an IPA.
