Slight hint of earthy aroma, with a sweet biscuit note as well. Pours a murky amber with a thin off-white head. Starts with sweetness, then earthy and citrus notes come through, fading to an earthy/pepper finish. Light bodied, not bad. Definitely an interesting one. drpimento (3815) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2016
They have the pepper done very nicely, but where are the hops mentioned in the brewery’s deScription? Otherwise, it’s just an ok beer. They missed their chance. rumproasts (6052) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 22, 2015
bottle. deep amber orange with one finger head. medium caramel malt. the pepper seems a bit buried, which is fine by me, but there’s just not much going on flavorwise. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 7, 2014
Taster on tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, Wisconsin. Clear orange, slight red color to it. Thin off-white head. Leaves great, thicker lace. Caramel malt, some tropical fruitiness. Light pepper. Noticeable, but less than expected. Probably a good thing. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, light spiciness. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of soft crisp lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Solid pepper pale ale. UkrainPubCrawler (122) - Minnesota, USA - JUN 22, 2014
This was a nice beer. Great pepper notes but they could have been stronger. Nice, light and an enjoyable brew.

Hazy orange trending towards brown. Nose of faded hops, candied malt and faint pepper. Flavor is old hops mild biscuity malt with a dry, light pepper finish. Black pepper builds a bit with further drinking. Old bottle? I don’t think fresh would havr helped this one. crossovert (14146) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 15, 2014
Draft. Dry and peppery ale, Large maltiness that crosses into biscuity butter.
