Quite a reasonable beer. Citrus notes with a flatness across the back. Don’t know about the seafood malarky. gam (4037) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 5, 2008
Bubbly thick frothy head,plenty carbonation,gold coloured beer.Aroma hoppy,honey note,malty.Flavour citrus not strong,malt smooth,hops have good taste,not a lot of other flavour to talk about,finish smooth dry,mild bitter,okay. peter48er (185) - Liverpool, Merseyside, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2009
330ml bottle from Booths Supermarkets. Poured a light golden/yellow, Only very slight carbonation with a short lived thin head. I found it rather sweet but otherwise fairly innocuous. Not a beer, more a slightly better version of a non descript lager. Drank it with a plate of seafood as suggested. It was OK but nothing special. ALLOVATE (3056) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 1, 2010
Into a chilled Tulip. Pours pale gold, no surprises there except the mist of finely dispersed proteins floating about like Sea-monkeys (Can’t say that is normal for a Pale Lager, me thinks a dodgy bottle is present!). Head went up and fell with similar haste to a ring of fine white foam, the carbonation minute and intermittent. Sweet nose, pinging on hot, oddly warming, smells of high alcohol brewing, almost Carlsberg Elephant-like. A honeyish medicinal fragrance with mild underlying malt and cardboardy tones. Flavour has depth, sweet front, malty mid-palate where it dries out before a crisp drop-off. Body is medium-light and it’s gentle on the palate. Not much length, just a lingering dry graininess and soapy mouhfeel that is subtle enough to not bother me too much. There is a hint of fruit in it I can’t quite grasp but it balances nicely. Aside it is drinkable stuff, maybe I’ll split a fiver to get a fresher bottle. (33cL, BB 20/05/10) Muggus69 (2673) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - SEP 5, 2008
330ml bottle. Bright golden body, small white foam. Sharp citrus hops straight up on the nose, some grainy malt in the background. Body is a bit on the watery side, dry texture, sharp carbonation. Grainy malt body, only the slightest hint of the aforementioned citrus hops from the aroma. Finishes a bit skunky, mildly bitter. Disappointing, I was expecting the "young Hunter semillion" of beers, but they’d probably have to double the hop additions for that!

Bottle. Another average Aussie lager, can’t say I see the Fusion beers around much so not sure if they’re still brewing. This one’s very similar to the Firefly, though it’s slightly more clean than the aforementioned beer. Thylacine (526) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - JAN 26, 2011
Bottle - clear gold. White head. Floral / citrus hops. Medium carbonation. Thin to medium body. Low to medium bitterness. Slightly stale aftertaste. MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - JUN 29, 2008
Bottle (330ml). Poured golden with a small, rocky, white head which was average lasting. Aroma was of sweet grainy malts with honey, cooked butter (mild) and a hint of citrus. Flavor was a very light grassy hop bitterness with sweet grainy malts, a hint of citrus, honey and a clean finish. Light bodied with lively carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and an ok finish. I admit this was much better than I expected, not an offensive beer just lacks a bit of flavor. mkel07 (6269) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 2, 2008
Promises a lot but delivers little. Pours with a small head that diminishes quickly. Light on the pallate and light on flavour.Citrus notes and aroma. highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JAN 27, 2009
A marginally better lager than Fusion’s Firefly, but the seafood-beer angle is a furphy because you could make the same claim about any number of lagers. Poured with a solid, lasting head. The aroma presented some diacetyl and almond-marzipan notes atop bready malts. Moderate carbonation. The flavour mix is nearly all bread, with low IBUs, grassy hops and a salty finish.
