Beese (3064) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2014
Cask at The Euston Tap, London on 9 Jun 2012. Poured near black, with a dense beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, roasted malt and caramel. Passionfruit and citrus hop flavours, with dark chocolate and pine. Finish was burnt malt, berries and spruce.

Craft. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Smooth palate, semi soft and semi dry. Very light and smooth dark malts with a touch of roast on the finish. The hops are light and piney but then reveal some nice fruits, orange and other things subtly tropical. Mild lacto. Smooth finish, semi dry with mild bitterness from the hops and the roast malt.

On tap. Very deep brown, tan head. Roasty and citrus aroma, taste is a bit chocolately and a touch hoppy. Really rather good.

wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JUN 17, 2012
Cask, Euston Tap, London. Deep dark brown looks with a small tan head. Nose and flavour had some roast and citrus notes alongside a little chocolate. Some steadily building hop bitterness unfolded. Very drinkable Black IPA.

Cask @ The Southern, 22-26 South Clerk Street, Newington, Edinburgh, Scotland EH8 9PR.

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, moderate hoppy, grapefruit, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120421]

BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 7, 2012
[cask at the Bow Bar, Edinburgh][sampled alongside Davaar Blonde] Brownish black pour with a large slightly off-white head. Fruity citrus aroma – lemon bitterness, mixed with roasted chocolate malt. Flavours are lovely – the sharp citrus combines with the toasty malt to give a caramel fruitiness to the beer. Great stuff, I preferred this to the Blonde [27042012]

Scopey (15431) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2012
Cask at the Grill, Aberdeen. it pours near black, with a bubbly off-white head. The nose is charcoal, wood, smoke, citrus pith and roasted malt. The taste is charcoal, ash, roasted malt, charred wood and some dark fruit, with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent.
