Cask at Euston Tap. It pours deep brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is toasted nut, earth, wood, fruit cake, light umami notes, plum compote and cacao. The taste is bitter - sweet, toasted nut, wood, earth, cacao nibs, varnish, tannin, light astringency and some dried fruit. Finish is long and dry. Medium body and fine carbonation. Cask at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of burnt sugar, caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet, nutty, more burnt sugar. Some wood notes. Smooth texture, at sweet finish.

Cask at Andrew Usher’s. Clear brown body with ruby highlights. Medium beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of crème brûlée, burnt caramel and toffee. Flavour of brown sugar, vanilla and woody malts. Cask at Hippo Sauchiehall St. Pours muddy dark brown, off white frothy head. Smells earthy. Tastes a bit too bitter for me, with more earth/dust. There’s some chocolate and malt and perhaps dark fruit in the back which is nice but it’s a bit overwhelmed. Liked some mouthfuls, felt others were weird.
