Good bitter ipa, that uses a less flowery hop than often is used. This a fine black ale, with good bitter aftertaste. Also roasted chocolate and malts.

Bottle from beerbods Pours dark bron with a thin persisting bubbly Head. Malty, licorice aroma with a hint of something I can’t place - something metallic/coca-y?. Sharp palette, pine-y, hop bitterness, cofeee, chocolate, roasted grains. Well made, but im not a hgue fan of the style - just not sure bittering adds much to a dark beer simontomlinson (374) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2017
Frothy nougat coloured head stayed well on a jet black, finely effervescent body.
Citrus, malt, metal toasted aroma.
Medium bodied. Very sharp on the palate.Nothing on the back.
The taste is coffee, mild citrus, roasted, pine & bitter under ripe stone fruit. Ktwse (4887) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2017

Appearance- pretty much black, a thick beige head which hangs around. Aroma- malt, milky coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla hints, fudge. Taste- bitter hops, roast malt, coffee, fudge cake, vanilla, caramel, dark malts, bitter dry roast. Full mouthfeel. Good, more black than IPA. Heidbummer (649) - SCOTLAND - FEB 25, 2017
Bottle from Beerbods. Pours very dark brown/black, tan head, thin, modest carbonation. Charred, coffee-ish aroma. Dry taste, some coffee, chocolate, roasted grains. Nice, but it fades a little after the first few mouthfuls.

Pours a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is a mix of malts, chocolate and citrus hops. Flavour is slightly bitter with roasted malts and a slight fruitiness from the hops. GSAP (746) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 26, 2016
Smaak van druiven, licht bitter met kruid en wat pittig. Lange nasmaak is een plus. Donkere kleur, hoe verrassend. mutz (1073) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 10, 2016
Zwart van kleur, weinig kraag. Ruikt naar druiven gemengd met koffie . Smaakt idem, vrij bitter. Interessante smaak. Medium body. radassace (331) - SCOTLAND - OCT 8, 2016
First black IPA I’ve tried so the rating may change. Black colour with small tan head, some kind of sultana cake soaked in brandy on the nose. Taste and mouthfeel is similar to a porter with roasted malt, dark chocolate and bit bready cake again. Finished off with some typical bitter grapefruit orange peel hopps, not too dry. Really liked it will buy again, and certainly need to try some more of this style !
