COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Workbench IPA project is Fyne Ales’ exploration in brewing one of the most diverse styles of beer available today, with specific attention paid to hop infusion methods. First Draft features a liberal hopping schedule with Citra and Nelson Sauvin complemented by a generous pellet dry-hopping using Summit and Mosaic.

Bottle from Bridgend Services, Freuchie. Pours with a fair bit of haze. Dusty amber. Tight, fluffy bright head that breaks down slowly. To me, this is Fyne upping their IPA game......aroma has punch but not quite enough......it's heading in the right direction though, certainly. Fruity sherbet and strawberry candy notes. Bit dank. Bit musky. Light but ripe pineapple and mango. Taste is also, ever-so-slightly lacking in these modern times.....bittersweet lemon tang to start. A little grapefruit. Orange juice sweetness. Almost background tropicality. Tasty Rich Tea biscuit malt. Gets dryer on the finish with a lasting pithy bitterness. Bit of chew in the mouthfeel. Full enough for the abv. Tasty but I think another draft is in order......

Scopey (15853) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 29, 2017
Bottle from Bridgend Service Station. It pours hazy deep golden with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, orangey citrus, tangerine and marmalade. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, bitter orange, marmalade, slightly soapy, damp grass and white bread malt base with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good marmalade vibe. Decent.

11th July 2017
Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Good tropical fruits and pine on the snout. Palate is light and has reasonable carbonation. Soft sweetish malts. The flavours of the nose carry over but the vibrancy really doesn’t, much more muted. Some hop spice and a little opal fruits. Mild mango and orange. Light finish. If the flavour matched the nose, this would be up there.
