pity z butelki, więc barwę i pianę ciężko mi ocenić, choć spodziewam się, że były co najmniej poprawne, gdyż sam smak nie pozostawiał nic do życzenia!
Cask at launch, Holyrood 9A. Black inky pour. Thick creamy tan head. Nice soft barley, dark chocolate, light vanilla nose. Lovely smooth soft dark chocolate. Soft chocolate malts, soft fruity roast. Really great velvety body but not cloying at all. Super smooth chocolate and roast, soft roasty finish. Hides the ABV very well. Really lovely. jd543 (428) - SCOTLAND - APR 25, 2013
UPDATED: JUL 8, 2013 Dark black beer with a thin tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee. Good body with nice deep malty flavours. [cask at launch, Holyrood 9A, Edinburgh] Very black pour, with hints of brown somewhere in the beer. Off-white head. Aroma of dandelion and burdock, chocolate and woody alcohol. The flavour begins with that slightly oaky flavour, then becomes very roasty as the chocolate and cocoa come out. Alcohol and damson/plum on the finish. Cask. Looks perfect - black with a thick tan head. Sweet boozy aroma. Big flavour with chocolate, toffee, roast and background fruit sweetness. Excellent thick palate. A great beer.

Bottle from Fyne Ales. It pours near black with a thick beige head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, salty edge, coffee, plastic, bitter chocolate and earth. The taste is rich roasted malt, coffee, earth, ash, liquorice, dark fruit, berry, burnt toast, salted caramel and treacle with a dry, roasted finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. 330ml bottle from Hippo Beers, Glasgow in March 2013. Pours a dull black in colour with a creamy tan head. Strong note of treacle fudge in the long sweet aroma. Smooth creamy mouthfeel and good lacing. Dark malt complex gives a strong maltloaf base with rich treacle fudge, mocha coffee and liquorice flavours evident. Dusty hop resins noted in the short spicy aftertaste but fade fast. Finish is rich and malty with treacle fudge and liquorice notes still in the mouth. Brownie, earth, and coffee on the nose. 3.75
Cakey sweetness up front, a touch of Kahlua and fig, gentle roast hit, and mild woody, citronella hop hit.
Soft licorice end and numbing minty linger.
Soft, creamy, medium verging on light.
Gentle dark malts, sweetness and silky mouthfeel make this like nothing so much as chocolate cake. Balanced, easy on the roast and porter body make it very pleasant. It’d be nice to knock a point off the ABV for drinkability, but not fussing.
Bottle - Roasted malts with light coffee and chocolate. Jet black with a thin brown head. Just like it smells with the perfect palate and mouthfeel. A perfect example of a good porter.
