Thx! for the sample. 33 cl. bottle sampled during Zwanze Day shenanigans. Dark brown, blackish with a tanned head. Smell is liquorish, touch dark berries jam, some roast and faint chocolate. Taste is that of sweet liquorish, dark berries, big sugar, some herbs and lighter roast, light coffee, touch chocolate. Touch less carb. med. body for a lower ABV. Stout, not special or anything but pretty satisfactory. Not getting any associations with oyster, taste-wise, I have had oysters only once in my life. ZwartePiet (60) - BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2013

21/05/2013 Mad For Beer (tap). Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Elegante, misurata ma appagante. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Tasted in 2010 (backlog). Deep brown in color with an average off-white head. Aroma is of sea water, roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste is salty, dark chocolate and roasted malts. a_cross (639) - Poole, Dorset, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2013
Bottle; black, with the merest hint of ruby brown at the edges, next to no head; roast malt aroma; gentle roast malt and ripe berry fruit flavour; light sweetness; dry, bitter finish with some nice smoky chocolate; smooth and beautifully balanced; I’ve had a few stouts recently from some much vaunted breweries, but this is one of the best.

330ml bottle. Glossy pitch with a slender beige collar. Slightly saline, burnt berries, toast, coal smoke, fennel seed and Black Jacks aroma. Slick, bittersweet but mostly bitter, black choc on burnt toast flavour with brackish hints. Puff of soot. Good. allmyvinyl (10952) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 22, 2013
Cask at the York Tap. Pours dark red brown, white head with good lacing, roasted coffee aroma. Smoooooth. Lovely long chocolate finish. Grumbo (3847) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - FEB 16, 2013
Cask handpump at White Horse Winter Best of British Beer Festival, Chelmsford. Black with soft head - great looking pint. Little by way of aroma, mild chocolate, but more chocolate came through on drinking. Full bodied. Keeper (255) - Milano, ITALY - JAN 26, 2013
On the tap. Velvety taste, soft and perfumed foam, not perceived as much alcoholic despite the % sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2012
On cask in the Wildeman. Poured deep black with very little head. Aroma of very dark chocolate and some roast malt. Quite weak bodied, but the flavour of chocolate, coffee and roast malt with a hint of liquorice more than compensate.
