Opaque black beer. Mild dark malt nose. Quite a crisp palate for a stout. Light as well. A little lactose sweetness well blended with the dark malt. Not dry or bitter. Fresh tasting and minerally. More Porter than Stout for me but light and drinkable.
bottle at home ... black ... thin tan head ... sweet roast malt ... light hocolate nose ... light bitter chocolate front ... nice roast malts ... light blackcurrant and plums ... juicy malts ... quite tasty Leighton (21239) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 9, 2012
Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, beige foam head. Dry, ashy roast nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, more ash, light roast, light baking cocoa, mellow earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Semi-dry finish with plenty of baking cocoa, restrained roasted malts, some dried cherries, light bitterness. Very pleasant stout, though certainly not a super complex beer.
