Draft sample at In De Wildeman during Carnival Brettanomyces 2016. Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 24.06.2016. Taste with Ogi and Aart. Pour it hazy golden color with small white head. At GBF - a ’Bretted’ IPA (not so far-fetched as a concept, but I still have to meet the first one that really impresses me). Cobweb-lacing, moussy, off-white head, hazy orange blonde robe. Fascinating aroma of moldy orange, stale sweat and wet leather (indeed ’Bretty’!), redcurrant, fermenting plums, hay, grapefruit peel, white pepper. Crisp, fruity onset, softish carbo, orange peel freshness, peachy hint, supple caramelly malt body, bitter finish, deeply tonic water- and grapefruit-like while at the same time retronasally floral and peppery pairing quite well with the leathery Brett effects. An interesting hoppy Brett ale to cellar I think - perhaps not unlike Orval?

clear orange/golden with a white head Aroma of grass, herbal, fresh, sweet, slightly hoppy. Taste has some pretty hoppy bitterness, powdery, very dry, smooth, malts, slightly fruity, medium body, soft carbo.
On tap at Carnivale Brettanomyces ’16. At In de Wildeman. Hazy orange colour, off-white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, orange, some citrus. Flavour is floral, fruity, light salty from the Brett, tea, leafy bitter finish. Not much Brett though. Light to medium bodied. Base beer is tasty, so is this. Sampled from tap at ’In de Wildeman’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Slightly hazy, golden amber with an off-white head. Sweetish, fruity and a little funky aroma of honey, some mango and orange jam. Sweetish, slightly fruity and quite funky taste of mango, orange jam and honey, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, a little tart finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!
